Beautifully designed and located private cottage for a couple tucked into lovely rainforest in a valley at the bottom of farmland. Buying food or eating out requires a bit of a drive and it is good to check in and unload in daylight so you know the long entrance track before you return from dining out.

Rooms are fantastic and very modern, the bush around the cabin made us feel like we were in a retreat! It is a great location only minuets drive to the town centre and amazing beaches.

Location was more remote than expected, access via a very steep at times, gravel, unsurfaced road - check your car will cope with this first!

Property initially a little difficult to find. would have appreciated a tea towel and cloth to wipe down kitchen area.

So tranquil! Cute little cottage in the middle of the bush. Super quiet and relaxing! There is a tiny little stream and waterfall that you can take a dip in too! Theres a little barbecue area with bowls too. The cottage itself looked great, incredible shower and comfy bed. Can't fault it!

Fantastic location, a real hideout! The cabin was lovely and well equipped with an amazing bathroom. The communal barbecue area was a bonus. Straightforward drive to the town with shops. Sara is a lovely host.

Overall, we had no complaints and these 2 things are just for awareness as opposed to real dislikes. There is no air conditioning, there's fan in the bedroom which is helpful, and the lounge/kitchen/dining area is a little cramped. But we feel the focus is definitely on the bathroom, bedroom & deck areas which make up for this.

The bedroom was good sized with ranch slider opening onto the deck which was awesome. The shower was open and spacious (plenty of room for 2😁 ) and I liked the fact there was no TV, great for relaxation and conversation. An amazing little place for a couple to escape to and enjoy nature as your views & background sounds.

The little houses are wonderfully located. You are surrounded by nature and a close drive to Te Arai Beach (where you can take surf lessons as well). We only stayed for one night but would have loved to stay longer. The hosts were very friendly and welcoming. The place clean, sunny and the oerfect size for two ppl with baggage. We would definetly come back if we could! Very good prize for what is offered.

Not a lot. The drive way is a typical farm gravel driveway. Don’t take a low vehicle.

Excellent designed and built cottages in a peaceful environment. The cottages are surrounded by bush farmland and birds. Best place to get away from it all. Owners are helpful and friendly. We9 could not ask for more. Highly recommend the hideout.

Loved having breakfast on the deck with fantails dancing all around us. The native planting was beautiful. Loved the rosemary bush by the deck.
