The weather! It rained a lot during our stay, but our accommodation made up for it as we could spend time indoors enjoying the view.

Wow, what a location! we're kicking ourselves that we didn't stay an extra night. Such a beautiful, well-kept property nestled away from civilisation. The view cannot be captured in photos, you have to see it for yourself. The place was immaculate, quiet (considering it's above the ferry terminal) and cozy. Close to the ferry terminal so easy check-out, close to buses and an amazing cafe (Ahipao) - we will definitely come back to stay again. It's not so much a dislike so we'll pop this in the 'like' box as we knew this before booking, but just to emphasize for older travellers or those who aren't as able-bodied it's best to book a car or have extra $$$ for taxis as the hill coming up to the accommodation is quite steep and rocky. We found it manageable but just as a sidenote!

The steep driveway was fine to manage in a vehicle but definitely needs a high level of fitness if you want to walk it (super steep and long). Some people may find the PA system and the coming and going of the ferry disturbing but it doesn't run all night.

The location, the view, the whole unit and its decor, cleanliness and all in great condition. Private and quiet as long as the neighbouring unit has no or equally quiet occupants.

Late check out was really not an option and there was no place to store our luggage for the day. We ended up having to store our luggage at the ferry terminal which was a huge inconvenient and an extra expense. The moorings apartments property appeared to have plenty of space to have a storage area for their customers.

The view from the apartment looking back at Auckland was amazing, you not only got the view of the ocean during the day but at night you get the Auckland city view.

Asked for additional towels and property manager (not owner) said they would look into it and said they could deliver some the next day whereas we needed them that night, then proceeded to ask for $10 / towel for 4 people for 3 nights, cheaper to go to the shops and buy some. Perhaps we should have read the fine print but at $600 / night for the two apartments it tainted our experience. The owner of the units who lives next door was exceptional and gave us towels at no cost so I think the property manager is letting the owner down here big time.

The kitchen should have better facilities for cooking. No oven or acceptable cooking hob. Milk was not provided. Information about the TV is incorrect - on booking.com, the website, and accomodation booklet. There is no smart TV or satellite TV as promoted. Despite contacting Be My Guest we had no satisfaction regarding the TV situation.

A breakfast basket or delivery option would have been the perfect touch. No toiletries available which would have been lovely at this cost but no dealbreaker.

The view and privacy make this an exceptional spot. Clean, comfortable and within walking distance to the ferry and all that Oneroa has to offer. Perfect for our anniversary.
