The bed in our initial room had a small and terribly worn mattress, sagging on both sides and could hear & feel the old springs. (which was contrary to all the reviews I had read?!) Salil (reception) saved the day eventually and moved us to another room which had the kind of large supportive mattress we’d expect for the premium price. Thanks Salil!

The microwave juts out from the surrounding joinery. It’s near the jug and I knocked my head a couple of time as I leaned over. One learns to be careful! I couldn’t find instructions on how to work the spa bath and had to get help. This was quickly provided though. Otherwise all was good.

Excellent location with friendly helpful staff. Close to shopping and the Hot Pools. Onsite free parking. Double glazed windows. Spa bath. Bonus free meal at local Indian restaurant for May. Quiet and relaxing spot. Good internet wifi. Daily plunger coffee and cookies. The photo is a view from outside the sliding doors of my ground floor apartment.

Fabulous views, underfloor heating magic, room service very good. Location close to centre of Hanmer Springs, walking distance to the thermal pools. Will sure come back to stay at this property. Could see the snow on the mountain tops. Frosty when we stayed but sunny days. Loved the autumn colours at this time of the year. Easy drive from Christchurch.

Great location in the centre of town. Well presented and comfortable rooms. Staff were courteous and helpful. Loved the little extras offered like fresh towels for the Hot Pools and free access to washers/dryers. (A real bonus when you’re travelling).

A little bit out of the way from the CBD. Approx 25 minutes walk.

Ultra modern hotel with comfortable rooms that provided extra touches like a large selection of pillows, a hair straightener, Alexa and even a yoga mat in the room to use. Extremely helpful and happy staff.

There was a horrific smell, narrowed it down to the bathroom, thinking it was coming from the drains? It was very bad, although shutting the door to the bathroom seems to eliminate the smell drifting back into the apartment. Laundry facilities shut/closed at 7pm which was very unfortunate, due to travelling from Aus>NZ and having a couple of days worth of washing by the time we had finished touring the town and had dined out for a nice dinner it was too late to wash our clothes.

Loved the location of the property, very close to the city centre. The apartment felt big for a studio! Nice little balcony, enough bench space, great sized bathroom and kitchen area and the bed was comfortable. The TV was great, having Netflix as an option. Close to a great bakery which we got a coffee and breakfast at in the morning of departure.

Only minor point of criticism is the notice on fines for leaving any strong cooking smells in the room - I totally appreciate the point but perhaps the lack of any extractor fan over the stovetop is also part of the issue here.

Modern, clean and very comfortable, we were glad we booked here. Easy walking to the town and the springs if you are going. In particular the lady running the property during our stay was incredibly personable and helpful.
