How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The parking and entrance to the property were the only things that were a bit tricky, however not enough to put you off.
Beautiful, clean, comfortable, warm and everything you could need in a holiday accommodation. Loved the under floor heating in the bathroom. All the little things made a huge difference. Louis and Marie were great hosts and were even worried that we had a bad day of weather.

Louis & Marie made sure we were happy and had everything we needed. They recommended us different spots to visit during our stay in the area. My partner and I couldn't be happier with our experience, we will definitely stay again!!!

A first class set up. Amenities were thoughtful. Coffee pods and machine. Lots of surprises in the finishes like the under floor heating.

Can not think of anything that could be improved. The power outlet for the use of e.g. a hair dryer or electric shaver in the bathroom is a bit conceiled though, but after a brief search was found under the sink work top.
The location is in one word: breathtaking. A piece of paradise surrounded by trees. Truly a place to relax and enjoy tranquility. Absolutely fabulous property, equipped with all conveniences possible. Communication with the hosts was easy and smooth: fast responses to WhatsApp messages. The accomodation was super clean. Can not think of anything we would need and was not there. Luxurious bathroom, fully equipped kitchen, washing machine, dryer, very comfortable beds and a very tastefully decorated lounge. Shops and restaurants nearby within a 10 minute walk. We would definitely like to stay here again in the future!

The location is a bit too hidden, we took a while to find the right place.
Everything is so good quality, new and clean. The bathroom even has floor heat!!! It feels so comfy to walk with bear feet!

The apartment was beautifully renovated, very comfortable and very well-equipped indeed. I was there in the winter and it was very warm; in the summer, it has the shade and the outside space to be very comfortable. The hosts were friendly, helpful and equally happy to stay in the background. Very quiet too: it was lovely to share the space with a tui again!

The owners of the place were next door was so lovely. It was spacious and just what we needed. It has a TV with Netflix, great coffee machine, an awesome bathroom. It was just amazing. We didn’t want to leave.

Our hosts were friendly and helpful. We had the place to ourselves and this was separate from the main dwelling. We really felt we were in the tree tops! We had our own parking spot which was off the street next to the property. The washing machine and dryer were very useful as it rained quite a bit whilst we were there. Having a bath in addition to the shower was lovely for relaxation. The bed was very comfortable. The location was perfect as it was only a 5 minute walk to Long Bay Regional Park.

Having to leave ☹️
We absolutely loved our 3 night stay at Treetops, its perfect and the owners thought of everything to make our stay as comfortable and memorable as possible. I would not hesitate to recommend this 5 star property to anybody but be quick as I think its a rare find, we were only lucky enough to secure a last minute booking due to an unfortunate cancellation from some overseas travellers. 10 out of 10 for every aspect of this wonderful place 😁
