The location - it's a long climb up from the bus stop and beach. Thin walls between the rooms transmit sound; an inconsiderate neighbour can spoil a night's sleep.

The location, a tranquil setting with an ocean view and the sound of the waves. The relaxed and friendly atmosphere. The two-bed dorms. The friendly helpful staff. The showers (though given the signs asking us to conserve rainwater from the tanks, the owners should fit water saving shower heads).

The mattress was thin and bathrooms are all at the end of the hallway. There are only 2 toilets for women. Good thing it was low season, but I can’t imagine the wait during high season. Hostel is a bit far from the main areas of the island, but closer to the vineyards.

The women that work check-ins are very friendly and nice. Bathrooms are cleaned regularly every morning. The shower stalls are large, spacious, and has great hot water. Quiet and super chill hostel during low season. Great views of the coast from the benches out front. 5 min walk to the beach (but it’s a long set of stairs, so a workout coming back up), close to bus stop.

One of the nights it got cold, me and the other roommate tried to start the heater but one it would smell like burnt coz of the dust I guess, the other thing was so close to the bed was afraid it will malfunction. I think if that's regularly cleaned and the bed is a little away from it, it would have been nice.

I love the location the most. It's so close to the beach and so close to the winery Casita Miro too.

Located on the hilltop over Onetangi Beach meant the sunset/sunrises are spectacular. Good-sized kitchen, excellent facilities and staff were friendly and efficient. Very clean 👍🏼

Rooms are for two people which is nice for peace but they can be very small too, the kitchen is good unless if there are many people. It is also far from center.

The hostel is located right next to the beach in a beautiful area with great view. The showers are great and the tv room is also very good.

A very comfortable and quiet hostel in a beautiful location on a hill overlooking Onetangi Beach. Very friendly staff, comfortable bed, and well-equipped kitchen. The hostel is kept very clean, and has a central location.

Taps only ran hot and they were burning hot! Not much storage space in the kitchen as permanent people took up most of it. Walls are very thin and people were loud early in the morning in the corridors.

Good sized room, clean and had nice clean bathrooms. View from the hostel is amazing and close to a few wineries up the road!

Walls were thin which meant you heard every footstep in the hall outside. This was a place for younger people who are having a few drinks and are not thinking about being quiet for the neighbours. Some of the showers had wet and dirty floors. At booking, it was suggested to request a carpark, which we did, but once confirmed was told parking was first in, first served. On arrival the parking was only large enough for 4 cars and it was full with 3 (because they parked wide). This made it difficult for one person in our travel party who has mobility issues, to get up the hill with their luggage. There is no road side parking at all.

Bed was comfy. Room was tidy. Good price for Waiheke. Plenty of bathrooms, including one that was wheelchair friendly.

Only thing i did not like is the shower that was a bit dirty and with no carpet... Also the fridges were full but that is not the staff fault. Had to squeeze in my 3-4 things.
