Apart from a few hangers - no space for clothes. Everything had to stay in the suitcase or spread on some other furniture. No shelf in the bathroom for cosmetics or even a tooth brush.

Great location!! Walking distance to town, shops and some restaurants and 5 minutes from the beach - you can have a dip first thing in the morning. Amazing views from the studio! I loved to wake up to that. Also - wonderful lady who takes care of the property and the guests. Super helpful and understanding. As a guest you are in good hands!!

    Nothing !

Everything was perfect, easy to find, nice reception, great location and fantastic views, Has a great little communal garden which was great for chatting to other guests, just far enough from the main road to be quiet but easy to get to the bus stop. Very quiet beach is five minute walk, great for having a swim in the morning then gentle walk back up the hill. planning another visit next January.

The walk to town was ok but the walk back up was very steep. This was not highlighted in any previous reviews. The room could have been a bit cleaner and I would suggest not putting an electric blanket on the bed in summer. It was not the most comfortable bed with that blanket on it.

The view was spectacular and the accommodation was good.

The only bad thing is that the walls of the room are super thin so you can hear literally everything from the rooms next door.

Lovely lodge, with beautiful view. We really enjoyed our stay, everything was great. Feels like a paradise away from busy Auckland, very calm and relaxing. We enjoyed our breakfasts on the terrace overlooking the ocean. There is also a little kitchen and outside grill if you want to cook own food. The beach (Little Oneroa) is only 5 min walk down the hill, while the Oneroa town (where you can find bars, restaurants, Four Suqare…) in 15 min walk from the lodge. The bus connections on the island are very good, there are several buses that will take you to the ferry terminal (10 min drive).

As I had a dodgey knee the hill walk up and down to the Lodge a little hard going and the loft bed a bit of a challenge especially if you need “night calls”

Close to lovely Little Oneroa Beach

I feel like I have to mention that you shouldn’t stay here if you have a phobia of insects. I saw plenty of spiders of all kinds and sizes in the room, was warned of mosquitoes which I did get a bite or two but mostly what bothered me was finding a large German cockroach above my bed at night! Gave me a fright when I switched the lights on but thankfully they provided a roach/insect killer spray in the room that I most definitely had to use. I understand that it’s part of living in that area but it still wasn’t great to have one right above my head while I was in bed!

The view is so wonderful, makes it worth the hill you have to climb to get to the lodge. The B&B room I stayed in was nice, it was clean with plenty of towels and beddings and I was glad to have the room at the end that had external windows to let a breeze in. They’re very generous with how much food items you get for the continental breakfast that is included. Really enjoyed having kitchen facilities to make my own meals as eating out on the island can get quite expensive. The shared shower and toilet were kept clean and had plenty of extra towels for you to use. I liked how relaxed the atmosphere was, it was so quiet and other travellers staying were pretty quiet so it kept the lodge very relaxing and like a retreat. The stairs to the bedroom loft were pretty cool, really helped maximize the space of the room.

Shower and toilet facilities were always clean. Great location, short walk to beach and Oneroa town. Large fridge we could store food in and basic cooking facilities. Loved our little room with the bed up the stairs- felt like a sort of tree house!

If you are walking be aware of the steep road to access the lodge if you are walking, but did it several time with big backpack and not that big of a deal.

The room was spacious and clean, with amazing view over the sea. Easy access to hikes around the island, and only 20min walk to the cute little city centre.

The lodge is a little dated and is ageing.

We were lucky enough to get the front room which had delightful views. Very roomy and comfortable. Our host was fantastic and even gave us a lift into town for dinner. Extremely helpful and accomodating.
