Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

New ZealandThe heat pump was in an interesting place that if you closed the curtains, it could not be on. We heated the room before closing the curtains and the room held it's heat fine.
Clean and tidy and close to where we were working. Would stay here again. Staff were very accommodating when we had to delay our original check in time.

New ZealandIt looked new but there was a bit of damage to the walls and the curtains were not on the tracks well.
Good position for us, manager was really helpful. Bed was comfortable and bathroom was great. Loved the extras that were complementary. We were not there long enough to use the private patio.

New ZealandStaff were friendly and helpful, recommended a great local restaurant on request. The room had comfy beds, good heating and location had a lovely quiet calm feel to it. There was quite a group of us staying and we had a fun time with a few drinks and lots of laughter on returning to our accommodation at nights, this was not a problem and we weren't asked to quieten down or return to our rooms or anything. A bonus is the fabulous Shoppington complex next door, well worth checking out.

New ZealandWe live in the country where it is quiet, so the Traffic noise and the train that went past twice during the night made it hard to get a good night sleep. But if you are a person that is used to noise don't let that put you off.
Management was very pleasant and polite. The room was clean and tidy. Plenty of hot water for shower, tea and coffee facilities, comfy bed.

CanadaThe property is wedged between a main road and rail line so may be a bit noisy if you are sensitive to such things. It did not bother us much. The area is a mix of commercial and industrial. There is not much to do in the immediate area. Having a car was essential.
Waitomo is a motor lodge and has no breakfast facility, however Bosco Cafe across the road was very good. I would describe Waitomo as more up scale rustic as motor lodges go. The room is large and spacious and includes nice skin care products. The staff was very nice and asked if we required additional items. Paid laundry on the premises was great.

New ZealandMinor inconvenience. The walls are a bit thin so we can hear the water running through the pipes from the neighboring room whilst they were taking a shower.
Our room had a balcony and it had quite a good view. You can also see watch the train pass by from it. It's just in front of a cafe, so breakfast is easy to get. The staff were specially accommodating with our early check in request, and they gave us bottles of water and chocolates.

NetherlandsThe motel is sandwiched between Highway 3 and a railroad track, so at times it is quite noisy. We walked to the nearest restaurant, which took longer than we had hoped. We also would have liked to see a shower curtain, as now too much of the bathroom became wet.
It's a basic motel. Everything we needed was there and in working order, but that was really it. The beds were excellent, and it is a good place for visiting the Waitomo Caves.

New ZealandAs this was our first time in Te Kuiti, we didn't realise that the location of the motel was situated between the main road and the main train line 😳 We were pleased to be staying in a unit nearer the train line as only 3 of those rattled past, as opposed to the many road trains heard in the distance 😁
The room and facilities were great for our one night stay.
