Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomOnly thing to suggest is wifi in rooms is possible however must realise being in the desert this is reasonable. Wifi is available in reception and restaurant.
The camp and the communication (email and whatsapp) was excellent. I would recommend driving to Bidiya and parking a rental car and getting the escort service to the camp. The Ameer tent is amazing and comfortable, the staff promptly took care of an insect situation which arose and allowed us use of another room if required which was a great gesture. The food is exceptional especially the buffet dinner which is a very high standard. Stargazing in the night was also a welcomed surprise.

NetherlandsOur stay was amazing, very well built and maintained camp, like a holiday village. Food was amazing, they arrange many activities in the dunes. For us the best one is stargazing. It was so nice and informative.

Germanynothing - would recommend this camp anytime
everything was amazing! in the middle of the dessert, quiet and relaxing. The tent was spacious and clean, the bathroom was half open air, so you could shower under the stars. The staff was very friendly, helpful and offered a lot of activities. Breakfast and Dinner buffet were also really good.

CanadaUnsupervised children at the pool, it took the front desk staff and hour to deal with the situation. But the hotel isn’t responsible for poor parenting decisions.
The location, the facilities, the food were all exceptional!

United KingdomAll the arrival info for a self drive can appear a bit daunting but actually the drive there is straightforward and fun. We did get the complimentary escort out there but drove back alone.
Great to experience the desert side of Oman at this camp. The tent had pretty good AC, and felt comfortable but appropriately rustic. The food was fine, and the pool area was welcome in the heat, although pretty small for the number of guests. I get it though, this is the desert! Wide range of activities e.g. camel ride and quad bikes, are available but they are very expensive. One night was enough for us in early summer

FrancePotential foreign hazards due to surely substandard electrical installation (ie scotchtaped connections behind the bed right in linen wall) Don‘t go during school holidays, chances are there will be small kids screaming with parents not caring
Location, architecture, pool area (small but a bliss), very professional maître d‘hôtel.

BrazilThe prices of the things to do / tours are to exepensive... Nothing so special anyway, since we can self to the dunes to see sunrise / sunset.
Amazing place to stay, I feel the hotel is a bit decadent, but pool area and restaurant were really nice. Food had many options and really big portions. Staff were really helpfull. We choose to self drive our selfs but got lucky to find a guide and another car going to this same camp, but super doable to go alone, is a clear "road" all the way. The way back was super easy. No alchool on site, but you can take yours.

United KingdomThe directions given are rather difficult. We could have driven however chose the collection and drop off option (due to having a rental and uncertain about the dune difficulty stated on the directions) but this was very expensive.
The location was beautiful and the camels roaming the grounds were a bonus. Definitely stay in the Deluxe or higher tents as the view of sunrise is beautiful.

United StatesThere needs to be far better signage en route to the camp! The coordinates they provide are helpful, but the signs themselves are extremely old/hard to read and don't make it obvious which way to go. This may be because they're trying to get more money out of people by charging 40 RO for a round-trip guide. Wifi barely works in common areas, and doesn't reach rooms at all. Optional activities like dune bashing, etc. are exceedingly overpriced! A campfire setup is 80 RO per hour ($208 USD/hour!!) The camels weren't treated well - they were left tied up by their heads low to the ground to force them to lay down for tourists (please don't book camel rides/take pictures of the camels or they'll keep doing this!) Overall beautiful camp, but 1 night is plenty if you don't plan on spending an arm and a leg on activities
Beautiful desert camp with stargazing and beautiful sunrises/sunsets! Staff are very friendly, food was better than expected considering how far out in the desert it is, and the rooms were quite comfortable with good working AC

GermanyOnly one small thing that keeps me from giving the straight 10 for this resort. At the rather high price point one could expect higher quality bathrooms. The bathrooms in the standard sheikh room could be renewed as they have come a bit of age e.g. perfectly clean yet very dark and our warm water was not working.
Stunning camp with great food and a perfect location. Truly the best dessert experience to be had while still maintaining a very high standard of facilities.
