Nothing to say about the property but I prefer Jabal shams location if you want to have the mountain experience.

You enter the room and feel like you’re in Oman! All the details are thought to make you live and feel the country. Rooms are huge, perfectly organized and with a stunning view. The location is perfect if you want to stay very close to the 4 villages (worth the visit) and have the Diana point right on your doorstep. There are 4 restaurants with plenty of choice and the breakfast is one of the best I have ever had.

I would recommend to the hotel to inform the client about the need of 4x4 car to access the hotel. It is written in the last lines in the description on booking but no one are reading that fat … it should at the begining There was a crazy flood and our pool stop to be heated and remained very cold. Despite i called twice the reception, no one came to see if it can be fixed. So we couldn’t enjoy what we paid for.

The dinner buffet was good, but did seem quite steep for the choice on offer. There were very few vegetarian or vegan options. Breakfast was very good.

Obviously incredibly beautiful hotel - amazing views for sunset and the rooms were really breathtaking. The pool was lovely, despite the wind making it a bit chilly! And the gardens were also really beautiful to wander around and see all the different regional plants. The spa was also great, and my massage treatment was very relaxing. All the spaces at the Anantara were stunning and it was a lovely place to be. Whilst our 3.5 year old was also very well catered for - she especially enjoyed using the bikes around the hotel grounds - the hotel is better equipped for older children who can enjoy the rock climbing and other activities. We did manage part of the hike you can do from the hotel, but it gets hot quickly and although most of the way is manageable, it was quite demanding for a young child!

I booked through booking.com and they game me option at pay at the site. I ended up paying at least 500 dirhams extra for exchange rate paying in Omani Riyals on my bill plus 2000 for extra for taxes. so unless your deal includes taxes and you pay online, it turned out to be very expensive deal.

The structure is not completely integrated with the mountain, in fact it seems like a squalid barracks to accommodate displaced people. Luckily we upgraded our room and chose a cute villa with private pool and canyon views.

Some of the customers were a little rude to staff who have been extra helpful and accommodating.

Staff at the Italian resteraunt and breakfast bar were super friendly. We had some good discussions. It's great to get to know the people behind the scenes. They created a truly romantic setting for me and my fiancé (we didn't ask) for our dinner with extra treats.

The ambience and view from the balcony of our room looking the mountain and the canyon was excellent. The food at the Bella vista restaurant was exceptional the staff Mr.Kamal and Dipshika were very kind and helpful to cater to our needs and I am very thankful to both of them making our stay very memorable.
