Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United Arab EmiratesDouble think if you wanna show your children how little turtles come out of nests and try to get into the sea. You see real life. Birds are evil. You have a strong wish to defeat turtles. But, please, double think if you want to show this to your kids at 5am. There is no window in your room. This building was not supposed to be a hotel, that was scientific center.
This place is the best one in case you want to have an organized excursion to see Turtles, their nests, and wild nature. We appreciate that the guides and guests were respectful of turtles.

NetherlandsVery overpriced to stay. There are cheaper options at 5-10 minutes drive. From there you can also book a tour to see the turtles. And in both cases, you may not see the turtles at all. The low season for turtles is the winter time
The hotel is focussed on offering a chance to see the turtles coming from the sea to lay eggs on the beach. During winter it is the low season so some evenings or mornings there will be NO turtles coming. Sometimes you will be lucky though. We were lucky (sort of) after 2 hours extra waiting and got to see 1 turtle. Unfortunately therer was a couple with a baby crying all the time, so this scared away the turtle. Hotel staff did not say anything.... We stayed in the luxury tent which was nice, but it is heavily overpriced. Hotel breakfast is fine.

CanadaSeeing the turtles. The 5am experience was much better as smaller group. 8pm was not nice, too many groups. It felt like we were disturbing the one turtle that was hatching. Also the lights of the bus that take us to the beach are very aggressive when every other aspect is very careful with the lighting. Also it was the move expensive accommodation is our entire road trip in Oman and we stayed in some gorgeous places in the mountains and the desert. We were very disappointed with the price of the buffet dinner and the quality of the museum. Our bedroom had not hot water in the shower.
We knew we were in low season of seeing turtles so we were lucky to see 3 large one and a baby one. If it wasn't for that experience my review of this place would be much worse.

Italythe in-take of external tours for turtle watchin is too high. even if there is preference for the hotel guests, the hotel should not allow each day such a high intake of external tour as it creates too much confusion during the tour. also per group at least 2 guides should be provided in order to keep the visit quiter and contain visitors that do not respect the environment and the other guests during turtle watching. Many people were loud and barred other client from the turtle viewing notwthistanding the indications and instruction of the guide
the food was very good, the facility blends perfectly with the environment and the staff is very welcoming and polite. the turtle reserve tour and the turtle watching was a wonderful experience even if it can be better organizes especially for in house hotel guests.

PolandWe heard about the hospitality of the Omanis, and the person who was on shift on the day of our check-in made us feel like uninvited guests. We felt his irritation when we asked questions, even though we asked about basic issues related to the hotel and watching the turtles. The rest of the crew was polite and helpful, but this one person outshone the rest with his behavior. It is possible to have dinner at the hotel (buffet - OMR 12/person). We liked the dishes served. The breakfasts were equally tasty. The room is simple in design, there are a few things in the bathroom that need tightening/adjusting, and there is a fishy smell coming from the air conditioning, so we turned it off. It was a few degrees too warm, but at least it didn't smell like the beach. I don't know about the experience of sleeping in tents, but it looked inviting. It seems to be quieter than the main building.

United KingdomEvening turtle tour was quite crowded and needed better control of the guests to avoid interrupting turtles. Morning was much quieter. Room was fine but fairly basic.
We did night and morning tour, seeing turtles both times. Only a 10minute walk to the beachfront to see the turtles. Breakfast and dinner was very good, lots of selection.

United Arab EmiratesDining-room is really not pleasant, what a pity to dine inside, and not outside, weather permitting. Same for breakfast. We were in eco-tents and the real concern was the noise of works on the tent number 25 just close to us. Painters start working at 6.45 am with loud voices, started an engine for compressor from 7 to 8am, and the smell of painting was strong. When we complained to the reception, the manager didn't even go out of his office to speak with us, and gave excuse that the workers speak another language, and don't understand the instructions... That's not acceptable when you pay 220 OMR (550€) for one night!! Speaking generally these eco-tents are nice but really expensive for the quality and confort, very noisy, you can hear everything from one to one. Friends in the first tents, close to the parking, were awaken by engine of cars at 5am + sewing machine of 2 workers building tents, early morning.
The main advantage to book in this hotel is to be on the spot for turtle watching. Dinner and breakfast buffet are good.

United StatesSlippery shower—a mat of some sort would remedy that problem; turtle walk staff should provide more information when preparing guests for the walks—for logistics and general turtle info; dates and coffee were in the lobby, but it was unclear who it was for—just tour groups, or all guests? A sign would be welcome, or friendly direction by the desk reception.
Locale at the turtle sanctuary; easy checkin, friendly restaurant staff

IrelandQuite basic, but good, food for the resort. However, when walking nearby in the natural surroundings, and on the famous beach, their justification of being an “eco-resort” is somewhat pushed aside due to the relatively elevated amount of plastic waste that is found either amongst the rocks, or on the shoreline. They will have to become more strict as to their own way of managing their immediate environment, and the nesting beach.
An exclusive setting to view the lovely landscape and coastline. Obviously, its situation near the famous beach where the greenback turtles come to nest and lay their eggs, is exceptional, and a wonderful way to embrace nature in its purist form.

NetherlandsDinner buffet 10omr a bit pricey, average quality and hard to find on the website. Though less in price than some reviews suggested. Your not in a 5* hotel but in a reserve. Dont expect too much.
The reserve is located 1km walk from the turtles. Just go there for thurtles only! Evening 20.30 and morbing 5.00 excursons included in the price. Tours are nice, as far as vissiting protected turtles can be. Always a doubt wether its ok to disturb the turtles. They didnt seem to bother. Guide managed the group arround the turtles. They managed as good as they could. Rooms were spacious and comfey.

AustraliaOur room felt a bit worn, and the bed was firmer than we would have liked - it didn't matter as we were there to see the turtles, and the tours exceeded our expectations.
We thought the hotel was very well run. The turtle viewing tours at night and early in the morning were seemingly organised to enable guests to see at least one turtle while not compromising on the egg laying process. We saw more adult and baby turtles than we were hoping to see, so we were very happy. The buffet dinner and breakfast had a wide variety of dishes, and we enjoyed our meals.

JapanThe evening turtle tour allows outside guests and we had a few unruly guests - loud, using flash photography with no regard to the turtles or having no regard for other guests. It would have been best if the tour guides enforced the rules more such as no talking, no flash photography etc. so the turtles are left in peace and everyone can have a good tour .
A great stay to see the turtles. Worth staying at the property to get the morning tour - less crowded and more to see as you have sunlight! The eco tent is quite basic but it’s comfortable and clean. It has the amenities you need for a comfortable stay. It can get very windy up there though so it was quite noisy during the night. Either way, you’re not going to get a great night’s sleep because you have to get up early for the morning tour!

OmanThe staff at the reception were excellent. In the dining room i found it impossible to understand one staff member. It made a difficult situation for me. Outside notice for feet washing would help. Without a staff member being present to point it out, one would not know about how to clean the sand off before re entering the hotel. Also the signs off the major road are abysmal. Virtually non existent. You should not assume everyone travels by gps.
Breakfast was good but no information at the table regarding what could be ordered from the kitchen.... eg. Fresh omelette. I like the chai masala
