How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Many stander things not available in the room such as cloth hangs in the toilet, soup holder, etc Poor maintenance and facility management such as Bad smell from the toilet and leaking from the heater Cleaning in general not deep enough!
Location is great and close to the heart of the market Suitable for limited budget visitors

Location is perfect. Staff was excellent. Thanks to staff especially at reception Mr shamim and his team. Also, thanks to housekeeping staff, Mr Ibrahim and his team for all care.

The hotel room was dirty, even basics amenities we ahd to ask for it, and the worst experience was that there was bed bugs all over the headboard and bed in general. Room was smelly. When asked for refund they made us wait for 2hrs and when we asked for full refund they charged us for 1 night stay and said you can only refund the remaining days. Despite showing them videos and photos as proof.!
Nothing to like in this hotel, no hospitality, cleanliness was next to nothing, no where it says "suite" or even "hotel" as an experience.

The place need to deep cleaning also the furniture was old . The pillow, sheet and quilt was very dirty and it have bad smell. The bathroom needs to maintenance , The walls are damp and moldy and need to be addressed

Everything, no sitting place in the room, very expensive, no catering services whatsoever irrespective the fact we had breakfast included. Unfriendly staff who spoiled our food, not speaking any basic English. Huge disappointment

The carpet was awfully dirty, smelly and dusty. Saw a small roach ... TV had the worst resolution out of the worst brand I have ever heard, there was just one towel... phones don't work to reception...staff is unprofessional The list goes on... location and parking was awfull... my first glance at the building made me regret the reservation , sadly I cudnt cancel

The room was dirty, full of dust and insects (aunts and cocrach). Beds sheet were dirty and the place is very crowded with very limited car parking. The enterance is very narrow.
The location is in city center and all shops are in walking distance. The management agreed to change our stay to Star Emirated Furnished Apartment which was nearby and we didnt have to pay anything extra. I recommend you go for star emirates Furnished Apartment but the suite one is a BIG NO NO!
