Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Czech RepublicNice place, not far but still you fell lonely on the desert. Lot of activities for free and even more for extra money. Friendly staff, good and plentiful food, little but in western style.

GermanyCamp is a bit run-down. Old furniture standing around in many places. Kids playground in a sad state. Could be much nicer with some renovation, investment and better organisation. One-way cups used for all beverages - not quite an eco camp.
We had a fantastic time with our six year old daughter - including sleeping in a tent unter the stars, dune sliding, camel riding and watching the sunset from the highest dunes. Pick up at the meeting point was on time, staff was friendly and food was simple but good.

United KingdomNice camp right by a big dune, deep enough in the desert not to be polluted by light. It says rustic in the title, so don't expect luxury. We really enjoyed the bedouin stories and bits of info and the staff, starting with Shahin, was really friendly and welcoming.

BahrainThe camp is close to the main track that takes you inside the desert, so you sometimes hear vehicles passing by.
Lovely bedouin family camp. Easy to find. The staff and hosts were very welcoming. Both dinner and breakfast were very tasty (good thing that it's included in the price so don't have to pay extra afterwards). The kids loved climbing up the dunes right behind the camp, and most of all, they enjoyed milking the goats and feeding the animals in the morning.

VietnamThe camp is inside the desert. You can enjoy the view and join activities organized by the host: camp fire, listen to Bedouin life, … The meal is good. The facilities are normal and not very clean, with limited electricity. No hot water. However this is the camp inside the desert, can’t ask more. The owner is very nice and friendly. Highly recommend

IndiaAn over expected place. I liked everything about the place.
Nestled amidst picturesque landscapes, they offered a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. Freshly prepared with a good variety of options, every dish was bursting with flavor and creativity. For vegetarians, the spread included a refreshing assortment of fruits, creamy hummus, artisanal breads, and vibrant salads. From the first bite to the last, each dish was a testament to the chefs' dedication to quality and taste. Everything was neat and clean. Great interaction with the Bedouin family.

Czech RepublicThe host was very welcoming, and the whole place was just a beautiful and calm oasis in the middle of the desert. In the evening, we had a campfire with stories about beduin life, in the morning we went to milk goats and feed little sheep and camels. All that is surrounded by dunes.

United KingdomNothing really - the prices for the paid activities could be a bit cheaper if anything
Obaid the owner messaged me straight away after I booked to give me the directions and contact numbers, also listed the free activities and the ones that will be paid for, which was really good. We drove from Muscat in a rented 4x4 and the location was just perfect, we were given the family tent which was just perfect, and my kids loved the place. We went to see the sunset which everyone needs to see and then came back to a buffet-style dinner. After dinner, there was a campfire where Abdullah, Obaid's son gave everyone a history lesson about the area and the tribes - really informative!! The following morning, a buffet-style breakfast was served and the kids then went off to milk and feed the goats, we got first-hand experience with a camel who walked up to us. We relaxed at the camp during the day and Obaid even had lunch cooked for us free of charge. We did camel riding and dune dashing before catching the sunset again. Overall a brilliant experience and we will definitely be visiting again. You definitely need to spend at least 2 nights here to fully enjoy the surroundings!! Do not expect the luxuries of a 5-star hotel, these natural luxuries are beyond that!! Many thanks to Obaid and his family for their hospitality and also to his staff who were just brilliant!!

United KingdomWe missed out on the campfire with the Bedouin owner and stories etc as he had gone to Muscat that day for shopping. Sand boards/sledges need replacing - they're broken and just gather sand - wasn't worth lugging up the dunes!
Great location in a peaceful part of the desert. Not recommended to drive yourself (4WD necessary) unless some experience driving on sand, although don't really have to go through the dunes to reach the camp (unless you get lost!) as there is a rough, flatter sandy path from Bidiyah to the camp. The charge of 15 rial for a drop off / pick up (15 min journey) from Bidiyah was a little steep by Omani standards but the Bedouin driver Majid was friendly and enthusiastic. He also arranged a free room upgrade as the camp was very quiet. Bedoiun house was reasonably well equipped (although don't expect luxury) with a large bathroom and living area. Great views out to the dunes. Mostly clean but some insects as to be expected. Not too cold at night, even in December. They made some effort to provide vegetarian food.

About the desert camp, we prepared for a more ascetic night than it actually was. And special thanks to Abdullah for the very interesting cultural story around the fire.
