Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaThe bathrooms / showers are simple but i wouldn’t say they were dirty. This is more like a campground than a luxury resort. The sheets had a slight film (probably from too much soap / fabric softener). i had to shake out the sand that would accumulate from the wind.
I’m so happy I took this trip as it met /exceeded my expectations. From the very prompt communication prior to arriving, the arrangement of transportation, the food, the staff are well organized and hospitable. The island was well maintained. I was pleased to see an outlet and light in each room. The food (chicken or fish ) there were options about its preparation (fried or grilled) and the accompanying sides (potatoes, plantan, rice and beans) Breakfast also was simple. Beer was cheap and cold. There were also other drinks including wine, rum, and vodka. no juice or fresh fruit :( . Things aren’t always posted /communicated so it pays to ask. hammock+chair can rented for 10 dollars for whole stay . snorkelling equipment can be rented for 5 dollars. Snorkeling tour is 20 dollars. The staff work hard and some like to talk to visitors . Other are quiet but still pleasant.

United StatesThere were very limited places on the island to get comfortable. Unless you bring your own beach towels, there aren’t places to lay down. There are a few wooden benches but otherwise I would suggest that the hosts provide some lounge chairs or rent out beach towels for the guests to use (guests are able to rent towels but they are strictly for showering). Also the toilets were sometimes without toilet paper.
The island was a gorgeous setting to unwind and enjoy the nature. Drinks were affordable, and meals though a bit bland were included. The staff was attentive and friendly, and we appreciated the smooth assistance in coordinating transportation to/from Panama City.

GermanyThis trip was not comparable to any other experience we did in Panama. The island was really perfect for some days of rest on another level. The water could not have been nicer, the sand was white as you would dream of the most beautiful island. The stuff was really kind. Food was delicious and authentic. We were even able to visit a native community which organises the tourism on this island. Although the price especially for transport is quite high, we would definitely recommend!

BulgariaWe had some minor problems with the transport organized by the property. Also the price for the transport is too high - 60 dollars per person for car transport for about 120 kms and 35 dollars per person for the boat transport. For example in Bocas del Toro we payed 6 dollars per person for similar boat and similar distance. The petrol in Panama is cheap (compared to Europe) so I would recommend to rent a car (4x4) if you are a group to save some money at least on the car transport.
Amazing place! Perfect for one to disconnect from the mundane life and especially from the internet. The locals are very friendly, we played beach volleyball with some of them and this was a lot of fun. The beach is very pleasant and there is a very nice place for snorkeling where you can observe some corals and a lot of fish. The vegan food was not bad, much better than the vegetarian option.

Nature and the huts. Beautiful Island. Calm. If you want to escape society, that’s the place to go :)

United StatesThe restrooms as mentioned in other comments were not clean. I wish they found a way to keep it more hygienic.
The island was serene and beautiful. The beds were comfortable for a night stay and surprisingly there was one light in the room. The food was simple but served on time. I'm glad I found this place.

BulgariaFood is very basic but tasty. If you stay longer can be an issue, for 2 days is fine. For snorkeling is not the best, most of the corals are dead.

Poland-charging phones or so possible only in "shop" sometimes there is no electricity (it's from solar panel or generator) -basic bathroom facilities -FB, but somehow repeatable fish or chicken for lunch and diner -small "shop" with sodas, beer and water. If you want some more, bring it from main land.
-a small, intimate island, without many modern amenities, perfect for relaxing and spending some time in solitude -in my opinion, it's better to spend a few days here, than to jump between islands every day -basic huts just with beds and lights -a beautiful beach, a place to sit with others or spend time alone -basic bathroom facilities -coffee and the available 24/7 -FB, but somehow repeatable fish or chicken for lunch and diner -small "shop" with sodas, beer and water -there is no WiFi, but you can catch signal from main land

RussiaFantastic place with fantastic service from the locals! Everything was organized perfectly. This place is like paradise! Cabana in very comfortable, no problems with electricity and shower, a lot of places to rest on the island. Very tasty fish for lunch and dinner (you can also choose chicken), drinks for reasonable price. We also took a tour with snorkeling in the natural pool in the middle of the ocean and visiting two other islands. Thanks to Julian and all the team!

NetherlandsThey could improve their toilet and shower situation. The toilets weren’t bad but they were quite cramped and dirty, keep in mind that they are all communal and shared. But it is certainly doable for a couple of days!
The property was an amazing little island, super wild and taken over by nature. Magical views all day and the vibes were immaculate. Nothing fancy because you are on an island in the middle of the Caribbean Sea, so if you go to San Blas it is for more of an adventure. We literally slept on the sand. The meals were simple but filling and based on the fish of the day or chicken. With 20 dollars extra we bought little fresh lobsters which were grilled and served to us, so delicious. The staff there, especially Julian the manager, were very welcoming and kind. Julian explained very interesting things about the history of the islands and about the Guna culture. He brought us to visit two Guna villages in another island explaining everything and teaching us about their culture, traditions and customs. Great experience! We loved it!

United KingdomThe bathrooms were dirty, breakfast food portions were small and you have to bring your own water and snacks to the island as there’s no drinks included with your meals! You also need to pay for your stay before you get there online, which is not mentioned when booked. Transport is 100 USD per person , not 60 as they mention in the q&a . I wouldn’t spend more than one or maximum 2 nights here. Dinner is at 6 and after that there’s really nothing to do, if you’re by yourself you’ll get bored…
The island is beautiful and very peaceful.

United KingdomI feel the place should be cleaner as we found some trash on the beach and generally burns stuff on a part of the beach. The toilet area should be more looked after as well as the beds and the sheets, I felt like they weren't cleaned on a daily basis.
the place is a little paradise, with crystal water, palms, white sand beaches, lovely place to relax. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner, we had some nice fish and they welcomed our requests to have an additional fish for just 3$ each. It's a place to spend as minim as one night or two.
