Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

United StatesAreas of improvement: The correct address was not on Booking, making it very difficult to find the location - especially in the dark because GPS kept sending us to the wrong road. I would suggest 1) updating the directions on Booking and 2) After payment sending an email or text with exact directions to the building, beginning with arrival at the gate including the building name/number and apartment number. This was explained on the phone when we were at the gate but would have been very difficult for someone who does not have cell service in Panama and/or does not speak Spanish The listing says cash payment at the property. THIS IS FALSE! The manager/host requested a bank transfer which I did not find out about until communicating the arrival time. Either accept a credit card, show up to accept cash in person, or state on Booking that a bank transfer is needed and send the details when the accommodation is reserved. As I live outside Panama and was on a cell phone, this would have been almost impossible for me to accomplish the same day. I was directed to go to a bank, but again, if I am not Panamanian or near an OPEN bank this would have been impossible. NO TOILET PAPER - we had 2 partially used rolls. For a party of 7 arriving late at night, this was not a good start. At a minimum, please have a roll and spare in each bathroom. There was an empty 5-gallon water dispenser in the kitchen and 2 empty ones in the pantry that we expected to be full. The manager/host told us we could go buy a jug at the store. As we were only staying 2 nights that would not have been a good choice. Consider filling it or telling people up front that they can buy water and WHERE. Leaving an empty jug on a stand looks bad. The two single beds were not completely ready - they both had a cover on them with a fitted sheet and pillowcase, but the flat sheets were in the closet and there were no covers on comforters. Positives of the accommodation: The lockbox right outside the door allowed for easy entry The AC and lights had been turned on for our arrival (it was late at night) Variety of board games in the living room for guests Great outdoor furniture and grill on balcony Well-equipped kitchen with a variety of pots and pans and plenty of matching dishes An ice maker that was cool and easy to use Nice view of the ocean from the balcony Good working AC in every room Full bathroom for every bedroom, making each room it's own suite Suggestions: Have a page in English/Spanish with a Wi-Fi connection and password next to the router Put the door key on a key chain and consider having a second one so larger parties have more than one key Leave a list of nearby places to eat, including hours of the restaurant on the property List nearby grocery stores and hours - many people will need to shop immediately and there are no stores in sight. **For an additional fee, I am sure that some people would take advantage of a service to supply basics (coffee, bread, milk, etc) to be there on arrival. This is a nice location - I am sure some guests would be willing to pay for this.
