We loved the Contadora island environment. Breakfast was really good and Robert is an excellent and generous host. The island is small and if you're OK with uphill walking you're good. There are golf carts for hire (via La Romantica) and golf cart taxis available for when the heat is too much. We loved walking the island but at around noon it is just too hot. The beaches are amazing. We were there in May and it was very quiet. Swimming during sunset at executive beach was the absolute best. There are many small restaurants on the island. We LOVED the hot sauce in particular at Restaurante Angelina.. and spent most of our days on the Playa Larga beach, where the Restaurante Y Bar Pimienta Y Sal makes the most incredible fried fish, great cocktails etc. All the people we met on the island were lovely and we felt safe and very well taken care of.

It was a bit far removed. I was travelling with my father who is older, so getting around was a bit difficult for us.

It was a perfect stay.

This is a wonderful place to stay. Great location 10 minutes walk from the most perfect beaches and 5 minutes from the best restaurants. Secluded, private, comfortable villa with excellent facilities, hot water, wifi and Netflix. Delicious generous breakfasts overlooking a small wooded valley where deers, Iguanas and the most colourful birdlife gather. Super kind generous hosts who will help you with transport, advice, and everything you will need.

We liked everything.

Robert and Lawrence were very kind, happy, and generous hosts. They made us feel at home from the initial shuttle pick-up from the ferry until the return drop-off. Our room was comfy and clean, the veranda was laid back and relaxing, the breakfast was great, and we overall enjoyed our visit!

While coffee and a machine was in our room if we wanted to have coffee, you had to pay.

From the beginning of our stay at La Romantica, Robert was the perfect host. He went out of his way to accommodate our family. Very helpful and informative about the location, things to do, restaurants. My son's favorite was the recommendation of "La Piazza". He loved the Empanadas! My favorite restaurant was the restaurant at Hotel Gerald, excellent. My favorite beach was the beach next to the airport strip, "Playa Galeon". My two children were delighted to be able to go snorkelling with the snorkling equipment Robert provided. The bedrooms were very comfortable, the breakfast was delicious, very much enjoyed the tray of fresh fruit, with cheese and cold cuts variation and of course choice of how you wanted your eggs, it was a great start to our day. It was also lovely to have the golf cart parked outside to door, no hassle with trying to find someplace to rent one. I believe golf cart is the only mode of transport around the small island of Contadora. Thank you again Robert for being the perfect host! Regina, Paul, Molly, & Ryan.

We were picked up from the ferry and were warmly welcomed by Robert with a delicious drink. On the way from the ferry he took the time to show us a couple of the islands beautiful beaches. We decided to include a breakfast which we enjoyed on the outside patio and included delicious fruits. We loved relaxing on the island and our stay was made perfect by Roberts hospitality.

My stay was very short.

The room was super comfortable, very clean and spacious, they picked us up at the airport and gave us a tour of the island restaurants and beaches and greeted us with a delicious romantic cocktail. Lauren and Robert were exceptional, they were very attentive to what we needed, they also have a lot of information about the island tours and golf carts, the hotel is a bit far from the beaches but with a golf cart you can go to all parts of the islands. We will be back.

A little bit far from the beach, but you can grab a golf cart or just walk 10-15 minutes uphill.
