It doesn’t have a kitchen so you supposed to eat (breakfast/lunch/dinner) at the hotel or elsewhere.

You wake up with the sound of the ocean, that’s beautiful. Perfect spot if you want to go surfing at this beach. To “la punta” you have to walk about 5-10mins

Maybe my fault: although you can stay in a dorm no kitchen or fridge is available for own food/ meals! So check before how you want to organize that (other restaurants are available if you stay longer) (Nothing to do with the Oasis Surfcamp: next ATM is 1h 20 min away - take enough cash as you can not pay everything by card)

The furniture was a little bit old and used up (matrace, shower, etc) but still in workable condition.

The location is breathtaking beautiful... especially at low tide at sunset. Beachbreak right infront of the door, pointbreak 5 mins walk + 12 min paddle away. The staff and the owners were very nice and helpful.

It is difficult to get to. With a normal car, it is very complicated to cross the water. There is only paid parking on the other side. There is no reception and the internet is extremely bad (we knew that though). The opening times of the restaurant aren't very good (maybe due to low season). The rooms should have been cleaner.

What we loved most about this place was the beach. And the hanging mat in front of our room. The rooms are extremely basic but the atmosphere is nice and the beach makes up for everything else. The food & drinks at the restaurant were good!

The facilities aged with the time. Expect very simple accommodation unless stated otherwise. Many other locations (not in guidebooks) with better value for money in the area.

Some of the restaurant staff are very rude and refused to give the right amount of change when the order could not be fulfilled. Then the older women was very moody and rolled her eyes, still giving us less change then was due.

The hostel is located 20minutes out of town (by foot). It’s the perfect spot to relax! The beach is crazy beautiful. It feels like paradise and is perfect for surfers. The staff was really welcoming and the facilities clean! This has been by far my favorite hostel stay in Panama and I recommend everyone to go there!

What we REALLY disliked was that there was a river we needed to cross to get the hotel and was not possible to cross it by car as mentioned in their page. The page said the river was on ankle level but that is not true, it depends on the tide (and it was never on ankle level). We couldn't cross it by car or otherwise we were going to damage our car with salt water, so we needed to request help to the hotel staff to cross our luggage. Although the hotel has a free parking lot we could not get there and we had to park our car on the other side of the river and paid for it, and we also had problems to return to our city because the parking lot was closed. Everything we needed to do was determined by the level of the river, if we could cross it or not. We wanted to go to the center to dinner but the tide was on waist level and we would get wet to go and to get back from the restaurant. Other small things: they don't like if you pay with credit card and the bar only accepts cash (it was not said this anywhere on their web page), there was not hand towels, no hot water, and the room got really dirty with sand because there was not a place to clean shoes/feet before going to the room, and although it is nice to have something different every night to do at the bar the music was loud. It didn't bother us because our room was far way, but the closest rooms must have had a very noisy nights.

We really liked the view, the rooms had AC and the bed was comfortable. The bar is nice and the drinks are good, everyday they do something different at night (carnaval, parties, etc). We did a surf class that was good as well.

Very loud karaoke right beside our family room until midnight. We were not told about this until we arrived and were offered earplugs as a solution. Try putting ear plugs into a 3 year old ears!!

The power was off for some time. There was no running water in the morning. Tge shower was ice cold. Tge shower had limited water and shutoff automatically. The road in was very bumpy and full of potholes

You have to cross an Estero (body of water) on foot to get from the street to the hostel. We had to do this with all our luggage and everyday to leave and come back. Even if you have a car, I wouldn’t recommend crossing a sedan, taller cars should be ok. Also, the power when out in town and there wasn’t a back up generator so we couldn’t even flush the toilet.

We had an amazing time ! The best place where you can stay in Santa Catalina with a direct access on the sandy beach :) Nice homes with air conditioning and private bathroom. The staff was AMAZING ! We did not mind (we even thought it was fun) but at high tide you need to cross a small river to go to the town (so you keep an eye on high and low tide every day).

It such unique place right at the beachside, loved the surf vibe, especially for beginners its an excellent place to start. Small distance to the town. Very pleasant personnel. We stayed in the suite, which was perfect, including own kitchen, so we made our own breakfast and lunch.

The place is very rundown with no signs of upgrading or any effort of improvement. Although the local staff is friendly and helpful they do charge 10% extra when you pay by credit card. So have the full amount in cash available. Be warned there is only one cash machine (may 2023) in town witch is empty half the time.

Fantastic location at the beach. About a 20 minute walk from Santa Catalina. Although this walk is during the daytime very hot and exposed to the sun. With, hopefully in the near future, improvements this could be a top location.
