Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesNot that we don’t like, however in order to enjoy the place, you must have a car (we had one, so it was not an issue, but want to point out to people without one, it will be a long and steep hike from town)
Modern facilities, In the jungle, well maintained, nature, good views, large property with creek flowing through, hike within property +outside road to mirador to the town. Everything you need (cooking etc)

NetherlandsEverything was amazing. One thing to note is if you book this without having a rental car, you'll find some taxi drivers have trouble finding the house, but the hosts provide you with some reliable taxi drivers you can contact. You can walk to downtown Boquete using the shortcut provided by the hosts, but the walk back up may be tough for some, as it consists of a very long staircase that can be slippery in some areas. Again, it's not a reason to not stay here, just something to note :)
The hosts Ciella and Quincy are wonderful people. We had some trouble with public transport and arrived super early in the morning in Boquete, and they picked us up with their car. They instantly made us feel so welcome, and it felt like staying at your family's house. The garden is beautiful with many places to sit and relax whilst watching the hummingbirds. The casita has everything you need to feel very comfortable. Kitchen is fully equipped and the bed is soft. I would recommend anyone to stay here if you like to be away from the hustle and bustle of town and love nature.

NetherlandsTo walk your way up is a tough experience and will take you around 45 minutes (by the shortcut), the way down is okay and doable in 20 minutes.
The casita is placed in a beautiful garden, so you are surrounded by flowers, trees and birds.

SwitzerlandThe mattress / bed was very comfortable and the small casita very well equipped. The kitchen had much more cutlery etc. available than any other studio we ever stayed in. Nothing was missing. The garden was absolutely amazing. From one of the many resting places there, you have a wonderful view of the volcano. In ten minutes by car we were in Boquete which was very convenient. Quincy also informed us very well about the options for activities and we had our own wifi connection.

PanamaIts a bit secluded from town, you need a good car and a good driver to get there, specially at night.
The place is beautiful, spacious and comfortable. It had everything we needed, kitchen with all appliances. Hot water worked perfect. We had a balcony where we had breakfast with a view, there is a creek right behind the place.

United StatesThe Casita was up the hill about a mile from town so the walk down was not too bad but the walk up was challenging for us. We had to rely on a taxi going back up. But it was only about $5.
The location of the Casita was amazing. There was a running brook right outside our door and the gardens on the grounds were serene, beautiful and relaxing.

United Statesthere was nothing I did not like, everything was perfect!
I don't usually rate facilities even if they meet my expectations, but the Casita at The Boquete Hacienda, is a completely different case. This place is phenomenal for those looking for a place to relax and to be surrounded by nature. We stayed at the casita, a room that is well maintained and equipped with everything you may need to spend quality time with your spouse; it really looks more like an airbnb room! this place is so quiet and gives you a calm feeling produced by the singing of birds, and the sound of a creek that runs nearby only few meters away! Quincy and his wife were fantastic and attended all of our needs, they welcomed us as if we were family, and made us feel so safe and in good hands. Boquete is only 12 minutes driving down the hills of Alto Jaramillo, and the road is in good shape. We can't wait to go back and stay at the Casita again!

Everything! The safety for a solo female traveler, The grounds, Wow! creativly beautiful spaces they have created along the little river, The babbling river outside the beautiful patios, The comfortable, spotlessly clean efficienct space, The nice linens, The friendly and helpful staff, Walkable to town( for the fitt-ish, I am an relatively active mid 50's female, slow and steady wins the race:-)The septic :-) Nearby hikes and waterfalls(driving) Tho the owners were visiting the US on my stay, easy, prompt, helpful communication with owners and seemless check in with delightful staff. The independent Casita was perfect for me as I rise early to have coffee on the patio before light without disturbing anyone..Great wifi, good cell service for Google maps w Sim from Tigo, EASY, beautiful drive from David..Will definitely return if they will have me :-).. If you use Las Escalaras to get to town be prepared to be embarrassed by the children flying by you to school while you pant with your hands on your knees :-)
