Really can't fault them on anything. It's a tad farther than a centrally located property, but the extra ten minutes in an Uber was absolutely worth it for the upsides of this property. It is very close to the airport, so that's helpful.

Outstanding property. Best pool in Panama City area. Staff is outstanding. They are incredibly kind and couldn't be more helpful. Food is solid. Breakfast selection is terrific. Poolside bar has great cocktails and lunch. It was also extremely clean, which was very appreciated.

Luxurious hotel with nice pool and next to golf course. We checked in 1st of January and were lucky to get a table at the New Year’s lunch buffet at 80 USD, which was absolutely amazing 🤩. The following day we played the golf course which is in good condition with interesting holes with water, lots of sand traps, etc. Rooms were big and nice, service was friendly and professional and the breakfast super good. The Spa in the basement smelled a bit humid but this is something with which we all struggle in Panamá. But the sauna and the massage and personal were very good. We visited the country club and played some tennis but the ladies at the reception were not very welcoming. We reserved two courts as we are a family of four, who played tennis seriously and when we arrived there, we were supposed to play only on one court because this was a “ country club” and doesnt bellow to the hotel and as guests of the hotel we are only allowed to book one and there was tennis training at 11:00 o’ clock, which was a lie. It seems like, we were begging to play there instead of paying for playing tennis. For our standards, the rackets were very old and the strings were done extremely wrong. If feels like playing with a fry pan and the water tanks on the court had insects inside. For people who played tennis seriously this is not a country club the worth visited or paying 56€ for old rackets and also old tennis balls ( yes also tennis balls get old, even when the van is not open) . We were actually testing this country club, to continue the tennis training of our son during our future stays in Panamá but it fails.

After two weeks round trip in Panamá, I decided to stay at the Santa Maria, and spend the last day on Panamá in a beautiful hotel. The Santa Maria fulfilled totally my expectations and the ones of my family. The hotel was very clean, the breakfast was wonderful and the food at Mestizo restaurant has a wonderful selection of Panamanian and international food. The personal is very polite and helpful. I dont understand many of the negative comments from others guests regarding the personal. They might be slow and not all of them can speak perfectly English but remember that you are in a Spanish speaking country and will be a good idea to learn Spanish too! I speak 4 languages and travels around the world and when I am in an new country, I try to speak the language… that is also part of traveling. The rooms are very spacious and the bathrooms is a dream. The hotel is located far from other attractions but you have close shopping malls, hospitals, cinemas, and sports centers. We will definitely come back and hope the standard and infrastructure of the hotel will be well maintained.
