Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

HungaryThe taxi driver cheated us. He took us to the hotel for $25. I gave $30. I wanted to exchange the $10 for 2 pieces for $5. The taxi driver told the receptionist in Spanish not to exchange money, even though he already had it in his hand. The lady at the reception didn't give me the money. Their behavior was very bad. They both behaved inappropriately.

I lived alone in one big room. Hot water, towels, air conditioner, refrigerator, wi-fi are in the room. Reception personnel were so helpful and friendly, they found adapter for me, metro card, explained every detail even with some language barrier. Area is safe. Toiletries are in the bathroom. Swimming pool is available from 8am but I didn't use.

SpainOur suite was on the 8th / 9th floor at the end of the corridor. We question exactly why you think it was acceptable to place 4 / 5 noisey young people in each of the three rooms next to us ? They caused noise and nuisance to us late at night, early morning / througout the day for 2 days and were Guatemalan folks in Panama for a dancing competition. We had two days & nights of this. After they had left, we could see what a mess they had made of the rooms. We were able to work out it took the hotel clean team several hours to clean / prepare the rooms for new customers. ? bad management decision.
We really liked this hotel. Perfect location. Staff all very friendly, pleasant and helpful. Nothing was to much trouble. Our suite was very high up in the building with a superb view. Honest open sincere review. Thanks very much.

BarbadosIt had a little odour when you go in for the first time, but when you open the window it was all good. Had a roach in my daughter's room , other than that it was good.
The room was spacious and clean, it was cleaned everyday. The location was on point just 5mins walk to Wendy's, MacDonald & some other restaurants, where you could get breakfast and lunch or you could get it from the hotel
