Other than the I'll fitting sheets on the beds, this hostel is excellent...all criticism of what is an excellent place to stay in Lima

The room was a bit noisy, the room was stuffy and the windows are really high up so you can't see outside directly (double volume rooms). No ambient lighting, big florescent light only.

Great location, friendly staff, has a rooftop where you can lounge and it was clean!!

Kitchen could be expanded a bit.

I have to give Ancestral a 5 star review. Stayed there for almost three months. Awesome staff. Felt like home away from home. Ultraclean. I treated staff to cake when I left to say thank you. Awesome views of the ocean from the roof top. Excellent security.

The showers could be done better, noise from the street could be heard a little in the room.

Good and clean common areas, lots of shared bathrooms, security at the door, helpful English speaking staff, great breakfast, nice rooftop with a view.

This is a really nice hostel in a great location. Staff are really friendly and helpful, from reception to the security staff always happy to chat and give advice and info. It's massive hostel, with lots of open space,a great terrace upstairs with a lovely view . It also has a bar upstairs, a good coffee shop on site and nice communal areas with a decent kitchen. The rooms themselves were spacious with lockers and air con.

The property is amazing with a beautiful architecture, high ceilings and big spacious rooms. There is also a breathtaking terrace at the top!

The bar should have been rebuilt to the rooftop and put more effort into the roof. The place on the roof was a bit impractical, as the social area was always quite empty. Also, the kitchen is tiny. My room could not open the window, and had a bit weird smell. Like old cat pee. I don't know but it was always there.

The hostel was nice and the staff where amazing. It was nice to have curtains on the bed for more privacy and a small lamp and charging by the bed. There was also a nice co-working area.

Fantastic hostel for anyone staying in Lima. Very well located with a nice bar and cafe at the hostel. The view of the ocean from the roof is amazing. The breakfast was very good, we had it everyday. Recommended for any traveler.

Well done. Even 16 beds dorms were comfortable. Kitchen facility and outdoor patios were well arranged. The rooftop had amazing view of ocean. Not a party hostel so a good place to chill.

I met three staff, and all of them are super friendly and helpful, I mean everything, not just where to go, but all the detailed tips, listened to my scram experience in the airport, offered me suggestions, and further other helps and supports, just the best!

This is for sure one of the best hostels we’ve stayed at over the years. The room was clean with comfortable beds, even the bunks were surprisingly spacious. Sanitary areas were clean, showers have decent pressure and are warm. There are very nice communal areas: yard, bar, pool room, and especially the rooftop terrace. Most importantly, the people were fantastic. The guests, but also the receptionists and volunteers were lovely. We had especially good times with the barkeepers Shey and Jennifer. Thanks to all at ancestral!

While we were staying at the hostel it was very quiet. This may be because it was the low season. The kitchen was also very minimally equipped and small.

The staff were fantastic, so friendly and helpful, from the people on the front desk to the energetic bar staff. The shared shower/bathroom facilities are really good. Clean and great showers. We took a private room which was spacious and clean. Very close to the heart of Baranco.

Staff are friendly. They know the town very much and can help you find things to do. Rooms where comfortable and showers where really hot. Great place to hang around. Roof top view is amazing.
