When we arrived, our room window was open which is off given the current dengue fever crisis. We didn’t actually stay at Waikiki. I feel there was a bit of dishonesty from the receptionist at check in regarding our room and booking. We booked a room with aircon, didn’t get aircon. They said we could change but the change would be in another building which was a hassle so we didn’t worry as it was cool enough at night. The room ended up being great so I didn’t let it taint our experience, and the receptionist was still very friendly and helpful otherwise.

Very big room with massive bathroom - apartment style. Fun rooftop, easy to make friends. Special shoutout to the bartender Jesus - he’s a legend. Pretty good value for money. Close to the cat park!! Clean facilities. All staff were friendly and helpful.

Rooms were big and spacious, with A/C too and an en-suite. There are other showers to use externally of the rooms too. Breakfast was lovleyyyy and definitely worth paying for. Location was great, super close to the beach and to the centre of Miraflores. Met an amazing group of people from the hostel on the walking tour and we hung out for 3 days after. All the staff are super friendly, helpful and there’s a lot of free shots going around! The surf lessons were also great value for money! I returned to Lima a week later and they let me hang out in the hostel and keep my bags there before my next bus.

This goes beyond a simple review, because I'll share with you my unforgettable adventure at the Waikiki hostel in Miraflores, Lima, where adventure turned into friendship and moments became unforgettable memories! From the moment I set foot in this place, I knew I was about to experience something epic. With its unbeatable location, just steps away from the boardwalk and all the attractions in Miraflores, I had access to everything within walking distance. Let me tell you, opting for a shared room was definitely the right choice! With high-speed Wi-Fi, laundry, and luggage storage at my disposal, my journey was on its way to perfection. But what really filled my heart with joy was the incredible team working here. From Armando, the manager who makes you feel at home, to Eloína, whose 10/10 breakfasts were a ray of sunshine in the mornings. Zahir and Eloína kept everything impeccable and in order, always reliable. Then there's Rose, the tour guide whose passion and tours take you to discover the most exciting treasures of Peru. And at the bar, Jonathan and Robert, who was the life of the party and made every night a memorable experience. And the reception guys like Gustavo, Miguel, Yair, and Enrique always had a smile and genuine interest in your activities and how your day was, welcoming me after a long day of adventures and tasting 😎😋. Each of them became my family in this distant city from my home in Canada, and they managed to create a bond of friendship that I will never forget. Although my journey came to an end, the memories and friendships I formed at the Waikiki hostel will last forever, as this is not just a place to stay, it's a home away from home, where hearts meet and laughter never fades. So if you're looking for an experience that fills you with joy and makes you feel like family, I would say the Waikiki hostel is the place, where you can smile, laugh, and create memories that will last a lifetime just like it happened to me.

I'm glad I found this hostel in Lima. I needed a place to stay and they had a nice room with very clean bathrooms and kitchen. Very friendly staff and well located. Highly recommended.

A little outdated maybe needs a refresh in parts and a upgrade. Small kitchen.

The staff especially Felix and Gustavo were amazing and super friendly, helpful and hosted a perfect environment for travellers.

Whilst we booked Waikiki hostel, we were put in Alpes Lima, so this review is for Alpes Lima. Comfy and clean room, very welcoming staff, excellent location (close to Kennedy Park Tourist Information Centre which is perfect for the airport bus). Also had free luggage storage and a lovely rooftop bar

Loud music in the evening (at least until 10pm) and there was a common area right outside our room where people were talking (walls were thin so it was quite loud!)

Comfy room, excellent shared kitchen with all the essentials, friendly staff, and free luggage storage. Very close to the coast and Kennedy Park. We did the free walking tour around Barranco which was excellent

WiFi was very poor Huge disparity between 8bed dorms of the same price (one downstairs has no lockers or space in the room and the bathroom is out through the reception) Staff were helpful but disorganised when sorting extensions/room changes

DISCLAIMER: review is about rainbow hostel (sister hostel) as I was moved there due to overbooking Rainbow was in a good location and rooms/bathrooms/kitchen were clean. Secure access and laundry offered. Can use facilities at sister hostels.

The WiFi was really slow/didn’t really work in the dorm rooms and my bed was right next to the AC so it was a little cold at night.
