Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesNo complaints!
The property is beautiful, with a lovely covered restaurant terrace for eating, working, and taking calls, and an incredible view overlooking the Alto Mayo river valley. They even have a private tract of conserved forest with a trail from the hotel down to the river. I was able to see dozens of species of birds from the hotel grounds and forest, as well as two species of monkeys—the critically endangered Rio Mayo Titi Monkey, in the forest, and Andean Saddle-backed Tamarins that paid a visit to the roofs and trees near the restaurant terrace. The rooms are very comfortable and the staff are all friendly and helpful. And the food they serve is delicious! My group stayed here several times (in between trips to other areas) over our 10 days in the region, and it always felt like a welcoming home base.

United StatesFor me, the one thing that was a negative was no offering of purified water. As a tourist, it is important to me to drink purified water and for a hotel this size and for the price I paid, I expected this courtesy. Every other hotel I stayed at offered this. Personally, I felt the bed was hard. That is my judgment and others may not agree. I also did not care for the location of the room I was given. I stayed 5 nights and there were maybe 25-30 available rooms? and maybe under a handful of guests staying there during this time. Why I was given a room closest to the street and not in a quieter area of the hotel is puzzling. I didn't like that you can never close up the room as the windows are only bars with screens on the other side. So any noise outside comes straight into the room (no sound barrier for the motos and roosters crowing in the morning). The curtains DID block out the light - which is rare and was welcomed. At checkout, I waited an hour for my credit card to be charged in dollars and it never was accomplished. I ended up paying in soles just to get on with my day and the exchange rate given me was higher than it should have been, so I ended up paying $3 more per night than the rate I was quoted. I also asked about laundry service and was told it was 10 soles PER ITEM. That is so outrageous that I washed my clothes myself. So, little things like that irritated me.
The property is kept exceptionally clean with beautiful gardens. Very spacious. The breakfast was excellent, although basically the same thing every morning. Always bread, a fruit plate, coffee (French pressed), and eggs - your choice of style. You can eat other meals there as well. I liked that you could walk to town easily if you wanted to (maybe a 15-20 min walk) or stay on the outskirts where this hotel is; there were trails you could take nearby to the river. I also like that they had a locking gate on the entry of the hotel which the receptionist needed to open. This made me feel more secure. The shower was great - nice pressure and hot water. The soap was good quality and not those cheapie bars. The wifi was so-so. It was really nice having the pool there too. After a hot day of hiking or just a hot day, it was so refreshing to jump in the pool and go for a swim. I was always the only one in the pool. They have a racketball court as well; beautiful views behind the hotel of the the river Mayo and surrounding mountains.

GermanyBeds super comfortable. They have there own piece of rainforest where you can take a tour. Very impressive. Excellent rich breakfast with everything you want. There’s really good and ”rico pan” in town. You should consider offering it for breakfast.
