Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Absolute perfection. One of, if not THE highlight of our trip to Peru. Totally unique accommodation, with the biggest, comfiest bed in the world. Amazing views in every direction from the floor to ceiling windows. I consider it an honour to have met Juan and his family. A master craftsman and on top of that an amazing chef too. Every meal was restaurant quality and I felt like I had been living on a health farm after our 3 nights there. Really nutritious food, seasoned to perfection. I spent hours on the outside bed, taking in the tranquility

One of the best travel experiences we ever had. I mean ever, not only in Peru and we have traveled a lot! There is no better way to experience Titicaca than staying with a family who has lived on the floating islands for generations. Amalia Lodge was exactly that. Everything was carefully thought through, clean, nicely furnished, comfortable and very very tranquil.

United KingdomThe family run business. It was so personal, flexible and lovely to contribute to a local family who live next door. They are also very open to your needs - we wanted to relax after a manic holiday, but they offered several activities if you did want to entertain yourself. Huan picked us up in his boat, took us around and ensured we ate whenever we wanted to. A very beautiful stay!!

United StatesGreat location for a peaceful escape. Super nice host, beautiful room, decoration, and surrounding environment. It is much prettier than the pictures posted on booking. The bed is extremely comfortable. We asked for extra blanket for the smaller bed in the room and the host brought a whole set of wool blankets and quilts. Simple but great breakfast.

Hong KongWe enjoyed every minute there.
When I made the booking, I couldn't fully understand how a lodge could have a full score of "10" on both booking and Google. By the time we had our first meal there, we started to appreciate the effort and care our hosts put into this lovely place and understand why all the guests love this place! The lodge was clean, cozy, well-built, and beautifully decorated, in our guest room, on the deck, in the dining room...everywhere! Our hosts Juan and his wife took great care of us - Juan took us to the floating islands after we arrived at Titikaka and showed us around his neighborhood in the afternoon. He also told us what life is like for his family on the Titikaka. We were served delicious and fresh meals throughout the day in a lovely dining room. Eating in a cozy dining room with a window view of the breathtaking Lake was a memorable experience. We also had a chance to play with two of his kids and their house pets. Everything was lovely, I wish I stayed longer and I look forward to returning to this place!

United KingdomThe hotel is absolutely amazing. Both rooms were lovely, although cold at night Juan put a hot water bottle in our bed to warm it up. Food was excellent. Was an absolute pleasure to meet Juan's family - such a great experience. Such a beautiful place and Juan took us out in his boat to other islands, explaining about life on the islands.

Amalia lodge is a lovely property on the UROS floating islands. It is extremely clean and beautifully designed with Amalia’s hand made pillows and covers. The attention to details is amazing and not to mention the piece and beautiful views the property offers. Juan and Amalia are wonderful hosts and extremely warm hearted people. Meeting them and their adorable kids was a real treat for us. Juan took us on several trips to explain the history and the customs of his people. They would do anything to make us feel at home. They even prepared a small program for us and prepared a hand made gifts for us on the day of our departure. It was the highlight of our trip. Thank you Juan and Amalia for this unfortunate stay with you!

United States2 days were not enough
They contacted us before our arrival to make sure we were fine. Amalia came to pick up us with the boat to the lodge. Room was huge, everything you might need, super clean and beautiful homemade decoration by them. Food was delicious. Being able to wake up in the middle of Titicaca and see the sunrise and sunset from the room has not price. We are super grateful to meet the family and share unforgettable moments with them. One of the best experiences after so many years of traveling. Hopefully we can come back soon.

United KingdomOur stay at the Amalia Titicaca Lodge was one of the highlights of our trip, which is saying something considering how much we loved Peru. Juan and Amalia have created a beautiful, luxurious and relaxing experience that is so much more than just a place to stay. We were given wonderful, fresh, home cooked local meals at breakfast, lunch and dinner and the room - and particularly the bed - were excellent. As other guests have noted, you are staying on a reed island so there is both a wet and a dry toilet but everything is perfectly clean. It can also get quite cold at night, but Juan and Amalia provided three lovely hot water bottles and there's a heater in the room. The price of the booking included a sunset cruise in their traditional reed boat and a guided tour of the island with Juan, who explained everything about local culture and traditions. We also had the chance to dress up in traditional clothing and make some reed crafts (which will have pride of place on our Christmas tree this winter). Juan and Amalia were so welcoming but also gave us plenty of time to relax in our own space, which is easy to do when surrounded by the exceptional views. Staying here was truly a once in a lifetime experience and ended up being far more memorable than the alternative of staying at a generic hotel on the mainland and joining a busy group tour. Truly exceptional and would recommend to anyone.

From the moment we arrived Juan and his family made us welcome. The room is so spacious and luxurious and the super king sized bed so comfortable. It was the small touches like fresh flowers in the room, a hot water bottle at night and the trips provided by Juan explaining the way of life. A truly unique experience just wish we could have stayed longer - we feel privileged to have spent time here. Thank you so much Juan and family.

United Kingdomnothing - everything was outstanding
Juan and his family are amazing. The accommodation is fantastic, quite luxurious for the place and beautifully furnished. Very clean, spacious and cozy. The food is excellent and their hospitality is simply outstanding. Juan, Amalia and the children are open to tourists as if they were friends visiting, we felt home but still treated excellently as guests. For us the best part is the experience that they offer in sharing a day of their routine with us, showing us their culture and customs, taking us around to explore the community and learn about their culture and belief system (extremely inspiring by the way!). The whole stay and the tours are excellent but the added value is the family’s kindness and openness. I loved meeting them and learning about their life and culture and I couldn’t recommend more to stay there!
