How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

A slightly worn hotel in a good central location. Helpful staff although a working knowledge of Spanish and / or familiarity with google translate would be helpful. Good sized twin bedded room on the ground floor with room heater that was very welcome in the evenings. Plenty of hot water in the shower. Rooms made up daily. OK wifi. Standard help yourself buffet breakfast with scrambled eggs to order. Reasonable value for money given that our stay was during the annual dance /music festival.

Minor thing that can’t really be helped - it is a little dark inside.
Staff were very responsive and friendly. Rosy replied to my message really fast and was super pleasant and helpful about nearby restaurants. The man on for breakfast was also lovely and was happy to prepare breakfast early for me as I had early bus and he hailed a taxi really quickly for me too. Room was very clean and shower was hot. Really good value for money.

Great location. Quiet at night. Comfortable beds. Rosa and the man were very helpful and thoughtful - organised early breakfast for us when we left early. Nice big room. Lovely fruit with breakfast. Very clean. We had a window onto the inner courtyard - no view but quiet.

Rooms are pretty dated, could use fresh paint / upholstery. Breakfast was fairly meager.
Fairly comfortable room with nice heating for the cold nights. Helpful staff. Decent wifi. Parking available at an offsite location for a small fee.

Lovely breakfast - good selection. Really helpful staff. Close to centre. Quiet with the exception of guests coming and going from their room noisily. Big room. Fantastic hot water and a heater in the room to take the chill off if needed (its a bit noisy but effective). Comfy bed, extra pillow !! and lovely towels.

The room is very cozy: spacious, luminous, great bed and pillows, hot shower. Wifi works perfectly, breakfast is very good, staff super friendly, very well located in a quiet street near the main square, cafes and restaurants. All I expect from an accommodation.

Amazing hot shower - good pressure, very hot water. The room was very clean and spacious. There was a small heater in the room, which definitely helped to keep the room warmer, taking in account that it was -2-4C outside at night. Breakfast was simple but decent - scrambled egg, fresh juice, fruits, bread, cheese, coffee, etc. Staff was very nice and sweet, I think they spoke only Spanish (though I didn't try any English with them) The internet also worked well, though I didn't use it much

The curtains could be a bit darker, as it gets bright really early.
The room was very spatious and clean, bed super comfy and the shower always had hot water. The staff was super friendly and helpful in organizing buses. We chose to stay at this place twice.

the place was really clean. you get a properly hot shower with nice towels. breakfast is nice with lots of fresh fruits. the staff was incredibly helpful and nice. we had to extend one day because of visa issues and that was no problem at all… they even let us use their computer and printer! cannot recommend enough.
