Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SwedenNo kitchen, and the breakfast did not live up to my expectations. My crepes were quite cold when I got them, and I would have wanted a few more. it’s quite a bit more expensive to stay here compared to other hostels in Cusco.
Really nice vibe, the staff was extremely friendly. The facilities was great, the bathrooms especially. In the evenings they lit the fireplace, which was really cozy.

United StatesThe room light was dim. My lower bunk bed was uncomfortable. I kept hitting my head on the bed above me. The small locker is tucked so deep into the bed space that it’s difficult to use and you can’t see inside of it because the light is blocked when you open the locker door. The sink water is ice cold.
Perfect location in San Blas district. Hot water for shower. Fireplace in common area. Super price. Nice courtyard with hammocks. Balconies for hanging towels to dry. If you’re French, you’ll be surrounded by the French!

GermanyThe rooms were small but had a lot of personal storage space and a small locker for the valuables. The rooms look out to a beautiful little patio. Breakfast was just perfect and the staff was really nice and helpful at all hours of the day. We really enjoyed our stay there and wished we could’ve stayed longer!

United StatesThe bed threw out my back on the last night unfortunately:( and the room was quite cold in the evenings.
Great hostel! I liked the location, the decor, the staff and they had a vegan option with the included breakfast. The staff helped us order a taxi on the last day to the airport.

FranceThe room is a bit small (but we saw the room with private bathroom, it looks amazing) and the toilets/showers are far away so when you want to go in the middle of the night you measure pros and cons. Also for the breakfast, you can eat a "salted crepe" but there is only grated cheese for it ahaha (I mean, it's weird to eat a crepe with only grated cheese not melted on it) It would be great to be able to add an egg or something else salted on it.
The common area are nice and cosy, breakfast all you can eat is very good for big eaters. It's a good place to meet people (especially frenchies but not only). The staff is very nice and the bathrooms are clean.

South AfricaThe dorm rooms are quite small, but each bunk has its own curtain, light and wall socket so once in bed you don’t feel the size of the room and more than enough privacy.
The staff were incredibly helpful. Even though I arrived earlier than check in and my room wasn’t ready, the staff went out of their way to make me feel as comfortable as possible during the wait. Met some amazing travelers there. I was also able to safely leave my bags there at no cost while I did the Inca Trail. The location is beautiful and building is beautiful - so much character. Would stay again!

CanadaGuests make noises until mid night and since all Cusco activities start early early morning (believe me 4:00 A.M. is normal starting time), it would be nice if staff impose some silent rules after 11:00 P.M.
Staff are friendly. They speak English Pretty well and location is very good. Food at the restaurants are nice. very positive messages on the walls. I liked my lunch boxes....Hot shower and clean beds.

IsraelI took the private room with a bathroom, and it was wonderful the only thing is that the bathroom is a bit small and there's barely space for your legs when you sit on the toilet.
Literally everything else. The place is beautiful, set up well, inviting, comfortable, warm with homey vibes. La Bo'm has one of the best and friendliest staffs I've ever encountered , they are all lovely and caring humans and are super helpful and informative with anything you need.
