Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanySome of the shared dorms are too small for people and backpacks
Best Hostel I had on this 3 month trip in Peru, Ecuador and Colombia; mainly for the amazingly friendly staff and the super delicious breakfast. You really feel like home here!

United Statesit was very unfortunate but it made our travel very difficult, the property is impacted by water quota due to drought in the area. customer service still helped by providing gallons of water bottle, however this impacted the experience greatly.
the location was easy to reach by walking from the plaza, exceptional customer service, very responsive in person or through WA. the lounge was comfortable as they provide tea and coffee all day and marshmallows at night.

United KingdomWhile the breakfast option with unlimited pancakes is great, it can get a bit repetitive if staying more than one or two nights. The toppings are also a bit basic, so maybe rotating the offer every day or two would be helpful. There is also bread available, but only butter, cheese, jam, and lime are included; anything else needs to be paid extra.
Excellent location and very friendly staff. Our room and the communal areas were very clean and the overall feel is quite cosy. There is a fire set up every evening with an option to make marshmallows, which is a nice touch. The courtyard is amazing, especially on sunny days. There is a hammock to relax in and quite a few tables to sit outside and enjoy. The creperie upstairs is convenient with a beautiful view of the city. It does get very cold at night, but our room had extra blankets that kept us warm. Overall, probably the best hostel I've stayed in.

GermanyWe booked two different rooms, One with a bath and another with a shared one. The included bath is very small and the toilet doesn't work very well (at least in our case). I recommend to take the shared one, since these baths are clean and much better.
Very friendly personal. The tea is for free the whole time, what was really nice, since in Cusco the weather might change pretty fast. Also the breakfast is very delicious.

United StatesThe room is pretty small and the bathroom is even smaller, barely fitting one person🙂
The place is very cozy, perfect for backpackers and for chill people. The staff is super nice and helpful. The breakfast was very good, includes crepes, cheese, jam, butter, coffee and tea. The place offers free tea anytime and a bonfire with marshmallows in the evening. The restaurant upstairs is super nice as well, cheap and offers very tasty food.

United KingdomThe room could have been bigger but this was a minor thing. The hostel is VERY boho/hippy/traveller vibe which is cool but the first thing I saw was someone resting their bare feet on the seats where you are to eat in the morning, so if you like 10/10 clean can eat your breakfast of the floor type of place, this isn't for you. So maybe, a no bare feet in the dining room sign would be good.
The hostel is set in the boho San Blas area that i'd highly recommend staying in. Loads of really nice independent shops, cafes, bars and restaurants that are a little different than the main area, which is a short 5 minute walk but with lots to keep you entertained on that walk. San Blas is also a good starting point for walking up to the top of the city where Cristo Blanco statue overlooks. The hostel is really nice and very chilled, it has a restaurant on the top that serves crepes of any fancy and has lovely garden to relax in. The room we stayed in was very small and had a small on suite, it was however, clean and tidy and we slept well there. You can store your bags here too if you're going on a trip or excursion like the Inca trail (which i'd also highly recommend doing).

United KingdomWould be great to have other crepe topping options for vegans :) The bathroom we had was also quite low which meant that it was difficult to shower stood straight!
The staff are really friendly and happy to accommodate for hikes! The vegan crepes were yummy every morning as well (although it would be great to have something else than just jam). It’s a very calm vibe and amidst this very hilly city it’s really well placed. For Cuzco’s colder nights they also provide hot water bottles which is lovely!

Stayed twice in private rooms and both were comfortable and cozy, if a bit small. Common areas are super nice - courtyard with hammocks and chairs and inside area with free tea and coffee and fire lit in the evening. Staff were friendly and helpful.
