Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe food could be improved a bit, and with expanded hours. Staff closes the kitchen very early and refuses to budge even if you're a minute late. Also the blinds in my room were broken.

United StatesNobody speaks English. It caused a lot of misunderstanding. I asked to call me a cab at 7:40, and reception seemed to say ok, but there was no cab, and every time it, you had to wait for 15-20 minutes. I was almost late for my transportation. Even though it’s a really quiet and remote place, and I asked for a quiet room, they put three guys right in front of my bungalow. They had been talking outside half a night. Cleaners in the morning turn on Spanish TV in each bungalow they clean. You can hear and see it because they don’t close doors. Food is very basic. I mainly stayed there for peace and quiet, but it doesn’t always happen. Some people talk for hours nonstop, and there’s not much room between pools and hammocks to enjoy silence. You can’t bring your drinks outside. They make you sign an agreement in Spanish and will charge you a fine if you do that.

United StatesBamboo really exceeded my expectations! Although it's not super fancy, I prefer this to the luxury hotels down the road. It's the perfect set up for kiteboarders. I found the campers to be larger and more comfortable and practical than expected. Everything was very clean. The bar/pool/hammocks set up is perfect with great tunes playing during the day. It was quiet and peaceful at night. Staff were very friendly. The kite spot is directly in front. Only shortcoming is that the food offerings are a bit limited, but in my opinion that's true in Paracas in general. Will definitely return!

United KingdomWe are vegetarian so we are used to having a hard time finding food we can eat. We had one evening meal which was practically inedible. Now, I'm sure that if we ate chicken we would have been very happy but we don't ... we went for the only veggie option which was `wok-fried vegetables with a choice of rice or quinoa', and a plate of papas fritas. I tried to request the vegetables only but it wasn't possible, they said ... when the food arrived, we understood why. A few miniscule slivers of red pepper - scarcely larger than the size of toenails - were mixed in with a salty gelatinous mixture of rice/ quinoa (my daughter and I had one each) and I have been put off papas fritas for life (probably not a bad thing) as they were so refried and oily that only hunger and the absence of any alternative permitted any to enter our mouths at all. We washed it down with Cusqeno beer (I don't usually drink alcohol but it was very welcome in this instance) and realised that had we been kite-surfing all day it might have been edible but sadly ... we hadn't and it wasn't. As Bamboo is a couple of kilometres from the town centre we planned ahead for our remaining evening meals and didn't eat there again.
The venue is superb, the staff could not have been more friendly and helpful and the breakfast was ample and delicious. We arrived at night and the rows of plastic boxes seemed a bit odd at first but once the sun was out the full glory was revealed: shady area outside the room to sit and read/ eat, two small pools to swim in, hammocks to swing in, a shaded dining area for the breakfast and beautiful views across the bay and over towards the national park. The Wifi wasn't too bad. The plug sockets didn't match our plugs - which have been fine everywhere else that we have stayed in Peru - but the staff were assiduous in finding us adaptors. And the showers were amazing! The water from the hot tap was so hot that we had to be careful not to burn ourselves ... not complaining, but be careful. The whole area is meticulously maintained, with gardeners and cleaners perpetually at work, making it a very pleasant venue to hang out in. They have rules about silence after 8pm which we appreciated. Sadly we couldn't swim in the sea because of the profusion of jellyfish (it happens every March apparently) in the water and on the beach, and the sand itself is a sort of muddy mixture ... but the views were fantastic and we loved just watching the birds - pelicans, pink flamingoes and many more - as well as the kite surfers taking advantage of the winds in the afternoons.
