How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The front desk staff were very accommodating for our late arrival. They were gracious enough to pack us breakfast to go when we had to leave around 5:30 in the morning.

Homely, welcoming, safe, large room, great shower, comfortable bed, nice lighting, adela on front desk was so friendly and professional, nice touch of welcome drink at nearby intro cafe, I had dinner here and the food was delicious too, finally it was very kind to provide me with a breakfast bag to take away as I was leaving early in the morning, thank you again!

Could be a little loud at night if larger vehicles were going by.
Excellent staff, were able to get us into our room when we arrived very early. Breakfast was delish. Room was lovely, bright and clean.

My room was quite dark as the only window is facing a small internal courtyard. It was also very humid and smells humidity, that’s why they leave the window open. For my own safety (as I’m a solo traveler and of course do not know the other guests) I did close the window at night and had to sleep with the ventilator switched on. When the day after I came back in the evening after my tours, I found the room with the window wide open, with all my belongings accessible to anyone - i appreciate it was done for the sake of allowing fresh air into the room, but it didn’t feel right to leave all my belongings so accessible.
The property is in a very nice location and I felt very always very safe. The building is very cute and with character. Staff is kind, breakfast is nice and so is the breakfast room.

Perfect location in Miraflores, very close to the bus station for the airport shuttle and to the ocean for some amazing views. Very nice boutique hotel, delicious breakfast in a cozy ambiance and amazing staff, who even remembered everyone’s name and made us feel so welcomed. I even liked the sheets and pillows. 🤩 Thank you, Belma B&B, I hope to experience this again.

Amazing customer service. Staff comes daily to clean your room. Pancake Breakfast is really good.I loved talking to Ingrid, she made sure I felt welcomed and always gave good recommendations. Gracias Ingrid! Eres la mejor!

It is a lovely house, with very supportive and friendly staff. The small breakfast room is beautiful and the rooms have all you need, are clean, quiet and bright. The location is also great, you can walk to the parks and restaurants and Cafés are close by.

The location and the neighborhood was superb. Very safe and walkable to lots of good restaurants and beach. Nice facility. Awesome breakfast. The host and staff were very friendly. This is really a boutique property. Which we loved.

Room was lovely, beds super comfortable! The breakfast was delicious with lots of choice, and good coffee. The staff were so accommodating and really helpful, made our short stop-over stay really pleasant. Great location, near lots of nice shops and the beach.

It was all perfect.
This is such an amazing B&B, great location in Miraflores but also really close to Barranco. Ingrid was great, she had lovely recommendations and took great care of everything for us. Breakfast was tasty with great ingredients. The room was very spacious and nicely decorated.

My lamp didn’t work. Cable stopped working last day. But we had other things to do so I didn’t mind much.
Charming bed and breakfast. Loved the staff and the accommodations. Definitely a great value in the area and it’s super close to restaurants, shops and the ocean.
