Everything looked like shown in the pictures and we were happy that the shower was very warm and with a good pressure. We booked a Colca Canyon Tour with the hotel which was amazing. The people were very friendly.

We stayed in this hotel last year. Our room were much better then than this last time. We had a refrigerator and the lighting in the room was much better.

Big tour group arrived very disruptive. Loud left early and made a lot of noise acted like they were only ones in hotel.

I had mixed messages about laundry and early breakfast. I was told it could be done and then I was told it couldn’t be done. They padlock the front door from time to time and so you have to wait until staff appear. There was only one loo roll in my bathroom. Plenty of soap and shampoo but no spare loo roll.

The location was good. A short walk to the centre. Lots of stuff nearby. The garden is a glorious bonus. A nice peaceful place to sit and read or just relax. My room was huge with a huge bed and a fridge. On the ground floor too. The breakfast was plentiful. The staff were friendly and helpful. They changed their mind about being able to do my laundry but let my dry my smalls and wet trainers (from Colca canyon) on the roof all the same. WiFi was good too.

Big and comfortable room. Very clean, good bed, pillows and linen. Fridge was very nice suprise. Flexible and nice staff speaks English good enough. Walkable distance to Plaza de Armas and on the same block there is 2 good restaurant and minimarket.

Superb property with wonderful and friendly staff. Joseph, the night guard went above and beyond to help us when we encountered issues with our transportation. The garden is tranquil and a lovely addition to a great little hotel.

Hotel was located very close to downtown historical district, close to shops and restaurants. Hotel helped me book some local tours and a good price. Breakfast each day was fresh and tasty with many options of fresh fruits, breads and hot items. Rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable. Staff was very friendly and helpful and all spoke perfect English, will return again

Our one complaint was one that is common in older buildings and that is that there is a smell from the drains in the bathroom. There was also a leak from the middle of the shower that caused the bathroom floor to get wet but a spot of grout will doubtless fix that. It seemed to come from the middle. There was no to-go breakfast offered for the days that we had to leave early, which was disappointing and could be easily rectified.

We absolutely loved our spacious room and the fabulously comfortable beds. There were sockets and tables by the beds as well as lights and there were other lights, chairs and a desk in the room. There was also plenty of space for clothes and cases. There is no a/c, just a fan above the door but we found that to be more than enough. The rooms surround a beautiful garden with lots of tables and chairs to relax in and you can have breakfast there. Speaking of breakfast, there was a good selection of fresh fruit, cereals, juices, your choice of eggs and two hot dishes as well as bread, ham, cheese, jam and most importantly strong coffee. One of the best spreads we've seen in Peru. The location is a 10 minute walk from the Plaza so it's very quiet and relaxed at night. Staff were all great, happy to help and very friendly and mostly spoke great English. A special shout out to the cleaning lady who was unfailingly cheerful and gave us advice on how to counteract the effects of the altitude. Bottom line, if we're back in Arequipa, we'll definitely be staying here again.

Lovely place to stay. The garden in the center is filled with birds. Very little road noises. It is a relaxing place to stay that also has a common room with table tennis and kicked. Would have loved to spend more time there. The staff was also super lovely.

The hot water in the shower did take quite some time to come through, maybe it is a Peruvian anomaly as it was the dame in our accommodation in Lima.

Natalie the proprietor was very hospitable and charming. She accommodated us even though we booked only minutes before our arrival. She was helpful and compassionate when we ran into difficulties with our bank cards. We really enjoyed the breakfasts on offer which we ate in the central courtyard which is a virual oasis. A sanctuary away from the hustle and bustle of the city outside. The location is great to the central plaza. We would most definitely recommend Casa de Avila for your stay in Areqipa. We were there for 2 whole days.

The Internet in Room 11 was really bad on the cellphone, and on the TV, I almost couldn't lock youtube or look at Instagram. In the garden it was good but it's really cold in the evening. For the price, this was a little bit annoying.

Laundry service was quite bad. My clothes were still dirty when they came from the laundromat. To their credit though, they did rewash the clothes. It says on the website that guests staying 2 or more nights at the hotel could get a complimentary city tour. I stayed 2 nights, this wasn't even mentioned to me.

Fantastic place. Friendly staff, comfortable room albeit a little small. Good breakfast. Great coffee. Good location. The main square was a couple of blocks away. Security was very good as well.

Minor gripe about being charged for early check-in, when rooms obviously available, only 30 soles, but it's the principal.

All the staff were great. Really good brekkie, with option of taking it in the garden. Very comfortable room.
