Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaThe location is a little tricky to access, my taxi driver had a hard time finding it so needed to call them to get some help. There’s a short walk to the front door but the staff came and helped me, I would still stay here again knowing this, but it is good to be prepared to walk a little for your arrival. Maybe ask them for a little help if you need as they are very helpful!
This hotel is really cute, well kept and in a great location. It’s the cutest part of San Blas so plenty to see in walking distance. The staff were all very helpful and kind, definitely would stay here again!

United StatesYou will have to walk with your things as there are no cars allowed on the roads. It didn’t bother me as I packed light, but just something to be aware of & also if you are a person that doesn’t want to walk much as you have to walk to get a taxi. I like that part of the area though with just walkers.
Great location & updated bedrooms at a great value. The staff are great at communicating & very helpful. Breakfast was wonderful as well! Great spot for a nice stay.

ItalyI found myself at Casa Encuentro San Blas unexpectedly after being unable to reach the owner of the apartment we had initially booked. Luckily, Casa Encuentro San Blas warmly welcomed us just in time, and their exceptional customer service became the highlight of our stay. As a small family business, Casa Encuentro San Blas pays meticulous attention to detail. The owner's husband, who also runs a trekking and climbing business in the area, provided invaluable assistance in managing my altitude sickness. His thorough explanations, drawn from personal experience, along with offerings like coca tea and oxygen, greatly helped to alleviate our discomfort. The location is ideal for those seeking proximity to the city center without sacrificing privacy or style. With surrounding restaurants, coffee shops, and local stores, everything you need is within reach. The proximity to Plaza de San Blas offers opportunities for leisurely strolls, visits to local art galleries, city views, and browsing through the weekend outdoor market. While the cozy room was comfortable and impeccably clean, it lacked natural light and ventilation despite its elevated and picturesque setting. Nonetheless, the queen bed, equipped with all the comforts of a five-star hotel, became my sanctuary during bouts of sickness. I regret missing out on the tailored private city tour offered by the owner, given its excellent value and his extensive knowledge of history, adventure, and attentive care, all delivered in fluent English. However, I look forward to returning one day to join him on one of his trekking tours, in addition to exploring the city further.

SwitzerlandThe walls are quite thin so you easily hear whats going on in the house.
Noeli and Jeguel were vvery friendly and helped us a lot with planing our trips. The room is spacious and has nice furniture. Smart TV with access to Netflix. Breakfast was lovely. Also the nightguard was very warm-hearted. Location is great. Although the place has only been up and running since 5 month, they are doing a great job.

United KingdomVery powerful shower however unfortunately not hot
Lovely modern room with comfortable beds and spotlessly clean. The location is perfect in the San Blas area. We were initially concerned as we had a ground floor room with the window opening into the hallway which in day time can be slightly noisy however lights were turned off at night and there was minimal noise. Really friendly family run hostel - we were also allowed to check out slightly late which was really helpful

AustraliaGreat stay!! Nohely and Yjeguel are amazing hosts. Their hospitality made us feel really comfortable and offered us any possible help with tours and info to get around Cuzco. Yjeguel was our tour guide in an alternative route to Machu Picchu and it was a great experience/trekking when the train to Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu) was shut down. The hotel is located in a great spot, right next to the beautiful San Blas church, there are plenty of restaurants nearby, and has all the amenities needed to enjoy Cuzco. Definitely stay with them was an amazing experience, and the coca tea was essential to get used to the altitude, especially for my sister ;)

BrazilVery small inn in the heights of Cusco (not so easy to reach if you're carrying a lot of luggages), located in the beautiful neighborhood of San Blas. In spite of the location, the place is actually a hostel, with packed room with windows facing the noisy hallway. There's not a proper reception, staff didn't speak English, hot water wasn't stable. Rooms are noisy and it doesn't get dark at night (the hallway lights were on until 2am). In short: the region has plenty of better options within the same price range.

IndonesiaBreakfast was very basic: 1 egg, 1 toast, bowl of fruits, and tea/coffee. We had to queue because the dining room fits only 8 persons. There is no heater on the room. Water is leaking from wastafel, making the bathroom floor wet. Pillows are a bit too hard, uncomfortable to sleep on. With the same price, you can get a better place in Cusco.
Size of the room is comfortable for 3 persons. Wifi is strong.
