Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The room we had in Chepita’s house was very spacious, clean and warm. The bathroom had one of the best showers I’ve encountered during my 5 months in South America. The owner was very welcoming and attentive, I really don’t have any complaints :)

ColombiaThe property doesn't have an outer number or the hostel name, so it was not easy to figure out which door was it without asking.
Ms. Kathy is a very kind person, I had a problem getting there in my booking dates and she helped me to solve easily. She also allowed me to check in very early in the morning when I got Puno. It is not in the mean square but getting there is so easy by walking about 15 minutes, also to the bus terminal, which is about 5 minutes.

GermanyIt was a bit hard to find, it would be good to have a sign outside! The room wasn’t very soundproofed and it was quite loud in the morning. Even though there’s dark curtains it was also bright in the morning.
The owner was very friendly and flexible. The location is close to bus terminal and port, which was perfect for us. The city centre is around a 15 min walk. It has a shared kitchen which allows basic cooking.

United KingdomThe only negative thing was it was a bit hard to find as there is no sign outside etc so that could be useful so guests arriving can find the right place easier.
Super clean, good communal facilities with use of full kitchen, fridge, dining room, sofas, outside area, etc. Chepita was lovely and very helpful. Gave us food recommendations etc. Felt like we were the only guests there at the time though not sure so very quiet if you are wanting somewhere more social may not be the one for you though we liked it being quiet. Great location for bus stop, walking distance from stuff in town.

TaiwanA bit far from city center, but close to parade avenue. There’s no heater and window isn’t sealed properly so we felt cold and wet in the room.
Hot shower. The staff gave us a room to take a rest before check in. That was very kind.
