Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesCame in my bathroom and there were ants everywhere including crawling on my toothbrush. Now ants can always be a problem so though this is not good, the part that I was upset with was their response of "ehh that happens" and when I pointed out to them where they were coming from and a simple solution to fix (a simple caulk job that would take 30 seconds) they did not fix. That is the unacceptable part.
Amazing view of the city!

United StatesThe wifi didn't work the entire time I was there. I had to wait an hour for someone to open the door at checkin because there is nobody at reception in the afternoon unless you request the exact time you are arriving. I had to wait outside in the rain with my luggage because there is nobody working there in the day time and no other neighboring accomodation will open the door.
The beds were soft and the breakfast was good.

United StatesThe staff doesn't allow to use kitchen, however the refrigerator is allowed to use. Having kitchen available would be a definitive plus.
This hostel is a more of a hotel than the hostel. It has private rooms, with private bathroom. It is very clean, and spacious, with a great view of the city, and fast internet. The breakfasts are good and the staff is friendly.

CanadaThe water was very touchy, it was either too hot or too cold and the coverage from the shower head was not the best. Also there was no key for the front door, but there was always someone there to open it for us when we rang the bell.
Loved the facilities, they had a pool table and a Foosball table. They provided a heater in our room because it was very cold at night.

United KingdomI booked a private room to sleep well before my trek but unfortunately there was some kind of party in the room above me. I let the reception know and they said it was a different building. I'm not sure if that's the case as it was literally above my room (303), but either way bear in mind the location of that room meant you heard a lot of sound. Normally I wouldn't mind, but it went on until 2am >_<
They let me stay on the sofa when I arrived really early, and leave my bag during my trek for free, which was really nice!

LatviaThe shower was weird, without an option to regulate the temperature. You never know if it will be hot or cold, however soon you learn to regulate temperature with water pressure. Sometimes toilets were out of toilet paper.
Great place to stay in Cusco. Amazing view of the city. Walking distance to central places of the city. Hot beverages for free all day long.

AustriaNo hot water for shower for entirity of 4 day stay. Rooms very sparse. No hooks for hanging clothes , no mirror.. could easily add a few things to make double rooms more comfortable. Has the potential to be a super hostel.
View. Tea and coffee all day.. nice building with good layout. Cheap price for bed and small breakfast

United KingdomWe stayed here twice and on both occasions our rooms had pretty terrible showers. In the first room, the water was scolding hot and there didn't seem a way to cool it down, and in the second room the water only got to lukewarm temperature.
This hostel sits atop a hill on the edge of the Centro area (its about a 15-20 minute, hilly walk to Plaza de Armas). It has a spectacular view across the city and there is plenty of communal space to relax, plus free hot drinks available throughout the day. The staff speak limited English but are still very friendly and helpful, keeping our bags safe for us while we did the Salkantay Trek, and organising airport transfers. The rooms and beds are basic, but comfortable enough.

CanadaThe place can get a bit chilly in the evening. No breakfast was provided at 6.30 as was promised. Might be due to low season
The location is great with the view. Inside the hostel is spacious and has lots of common areas to sit back on a couch and enjoy the view. The staff speak good English and are very helpful with bookings and advice. They helped me to book a Machu Picchu tour and save like $200. Plus the trip itself was remarkable.

United KingdomBreakfast was nice, but lacking in variety.
Enjoyed my stay at Cuscopackers and even extended to do more trips from Cusco. The hostel itself is about a 10 minute walk to Plaza de Armas, so it felt out the way of the noise/bustle of central Cusco (it’s uphill on the way back though, to warn anyway who might be suffering with the altitude but worth it for the hostel’s great views over the city). My room was clean and comfortable, daily housekeeping is also offered. The staff were really friendly and helpful, even when I had to wake them for early excursions! I thought the free tea and coffee was a nice touch, too. Wi-Fi was strong and reliable, or you can use the computer in the common area.

SlovakiaLocation is a bit up to the hill. Its still 10-15min walk from the main square, but its not totally in the center.
Staff was very helpful. With a taxi, tips, advices. I could check in sooner, leave a bag for free for couple of days. There was a small heater in the room (which is needed). You could close the windows (which is not normal in other hostels in Cusco). Free tea and coffee all the time. Coca leaves for the tea!!! Love it.
