Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsWe chose this property because it’s outside of the hustle and bustle of the city of Huaraz, which is quite noisy and dirty, but still close enough to the city so we could do day hikes. We loved it here so much we decided to stay for 2 weeks. The place is run by a sweet and loving family. Eva makes a delicious breakfast every morning for you to enjoy in the morning sun while you listen to the river gushing by. Ivan can give you all the necessary information on what to do and see in the cordillera blanca. He will even guide you to a nearby waterfall if you ask! If you don’t have your own transport, like us, there are collectivos that stop outside the property every 10 minutes (line 10 and E) to take you to the city for 2 soles. With the collectivos it was easy for us to go do some shopping or start our day treks to Chrurup and Llaca. The collectivos are also fun to mingle with the locals. Apart from the tranquility of the place and the lovely cute dogs that run around, we loved the kitchen a lot as well. Fully equipped and you get free range and a large space in the fridge. We got some fabulous ingredients at the Mercado Central and did some of the best cooking we’ve ever done on holiday! Also really enjoyed the shower! Very hot water and good pressure! The wifi is also very fast and good! We were also allowed to leave our bags when we went on the Santa Cruz trek and Eva even accompanied us in the taxi to the city when we left (at 4.30 am). On our last day we had a night bus at 10 pm and we’re allowed to just hang around the property until we felt like going to the city to catch the bus. Lastly, Eva can arrange any and all trips you would like to do when there if you give her a days notice - day trips you would normally book at your hostel, like Laguna 69, Paron, Nevada Mateo etc. Just ask her, she is very willing to help!

AustraliaNothing we didn't like
Beautiful mountain setting overlooking the Rio Santa below.. The owner was very friendly and extremely helpful. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious. Great location for those who don't like being in the hustle and bustle of the city. It's easy and cheap to catch a collectivo (mini van) into the city of Hauraz.

United StatesExcellent location just outside of Huaraz. Quiet and peaceful, but still easy to access. Room was quiet and comfortable. Really hot showers which was a huge plus. Free reign of the kitchen which was great, able to cook meals since there isn’t much around in regards to eating our (which we thought was a huge plus!). Eva, the host, is super sweet and very helpful. Came and met us when our bus got in very very late to help us find the house. Overall a great stay, could not recommend more.

CanadaOur stay was perfect.
Casa del Montañista felt like a little piece of paradise just outside the hustle and bustle of Huaraz. Easy to get to and from the city with a 5 minute colectivo. The tandem hammocks in the garden were a perfect spot to relax and acclimatize for a few days. Eva and her son are such kind and gracious hosts. They prepared a delightful breakfast spread for us each morning. Our room was very clean and comfortable and we enjoyed the mountain views from our balcony. Staying here was an absolute highlight. There are also many trails to explore directly from the property. We would highly recommend staying here.

United StatesA healthy walk from the road thats strenuous with luggage ( staff helps a lot). The shared kitchen is nice but they are still hooking-up the water which should be done soon. Only small bodegas nearby, need to go to Huarez for fresh foods and restaurants.
Tranquil little lodge set-in the mountain near bustling Huarez. Nice views all around with modern large rooms. Hard-working staff and nice little breakfasts. Solar hot showers and clean bathrooms. Really dark and quiet at night.

PeruThe first time I arrived I got lost, but just make sure you call the host as soon as you're there. They will help you out immediately. :)
Excellent service. The host makes you feel at home. Plus, the place is amazing. It's pet friendly and if you are planning to stay there just to relax it's the best option. It's away from the chaos of the city... A really peaceful retreat. Going downtown is just a van away so the lodge offers that practical aspect. If you are looking for a place to relax and enjoy peace and quiet, this is the place to choose.

AustraliaIt was a bit of a mission to get to with my bike given the road works and narrow path, steep in sections &initially a bit hard to find (no signage), but Eva was expecting me and came down to meet me and help push the bike. Once I got there l enjoyed it, but best not to expect to come and go from town. Not what I would describe as an Ecolodge, and not great views, but nice to get out of town. More expensive (for one) than anywhere else l had stayed
Eva is very kind and attentive. Really great room, bathroom and adjoining under cover terrace. Good breakfast. Good internet. Nice place to rest or work/do internet based tasks. Peaceful location with the sound of the river. Enjoyed resting in the hammocks
