How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Might not be ideal for someone seeking rush/loud nightlife.
Great place in Barrios Altos (quiet neigberhood, with few bars and restaurants) - Miraflores or Barrance easily reachable by cab from there. Great spacious accomodation with everytning you might need. Host is amazingly helpful and responsive 10/10.

Apartment was exactly as on the photos. Very clean and spacious. Good location. Everything was walkable in a few minutes. Be aware that you are in the city and you will hear some noise.

The hot water didn’t work for us. The very busy location also meant some traffic and you must budget some extra time if you’re going to the airport since it takes a while to actually get a car to come.
Awesome location. Very clean and beds are comfy. Has water to refill your bottles.

Property is nice. We arrived after 11am, there was renovation going on so we really didn’t get some rest due to loud noises of the renovation, just because we have to catch a flight at 12midnigbt. But it was only us during that afternoon. Otherwise, no renovation at night.
Convenient location, 6 min walk to the main plaza. Communication with Veronica through whatsapp was a breeze until we arrived on her place. She’s warm and welcoming.

The building is situated on a side street close to the historic center of Lima. Our apartment was on the first floor facing the street and it was quiet, we had a good sleep. For those sensible there are earbuds kindly provided by the host, but we didn't need them. The accommodation is roomy and comfortable. There is tea and coffee provided and free drinking water. The shower was hot and everything was very clean. The kitchen is very practical for a quick meal, but there are a few restaurants just on the same street where one can get a quick and cheap lunch or dinner deal. Check in was easy with the instructions provided by the host. Thank you for providing such a nice and comfortable accommodation.

We did lose power & wifi early during our stay, but that was the entire section of the city. It was a mild inconvenience but definitely not too big of an issue.

I would only add tv to the room
Friendly owner! very accommodating, we could check in much earlier than 2pm! Room has everything what You need for short stay in the middle of historic district.

1) We were working during our stay and the Wi-Fi wasn't very good, we had to use an extender - the host was polite and let us keep it during our stay. 2) The terrace upstairs was good but covered in dust. 3) We happened to have protests during our stay that made it difficult to stay in the room.

Just people protesting on the street. But it has nothing to do with the property, of course. The property is highly recommended. Very highly.
Excellent communication with the owner lady. Location just next to the main square. Roof top teras with games provided by the property. Drinking water, tea, and an instant cafe. In the apartment is even a small oven/grill - very useful. And fridge. I felt very happy here.

The wifi signal was very weak in the apartment. We had to go to the corridor where the router was.

It can be a bit noisy in the morning as it is located in an area with lots of government offices.
It was a great comfortable space with fantastic amenities and in a safe location. The host was very accommodating and responsive to any requests we had.

In historic part of town so some noise from people going to work in morning. Goes with theo location.

Unfortunately the rooftop was under construction. The air in the apartment was also extremely still which meant we had to keep the windows open but there’s a club nearby so it was extremely loud. The music went on till 5 AM. It was extremely difficult to sleep (barely slept the final night) as it gets quite warm and loud.
It was very spacious and beautifully decorated. The host was a very nice lady and the facility also had a washing machine that was extremely useful. It was centrally located.

We had 10 hours in Lima between flights so had rented the apartment to give us a place to rest, store our luggage and do a little site seeing. When we arrived, the power for the building was out and didn't come back on after several hours. We had trouble getting into the building, and we finally had to leave early because it was getting dark and there were no lights. We also couldn't use the wifi or charge any devices because we were without power. They were well aware of the issue and still charged us full price for the room even though we didn't even have basic amenities besides a bathroom. Unfortunately, it wasn't the comfortable resting place we had hoped.
The apartment is very cute and so clean. It was really easy to coordinate the booking and changes over WhatsApp. It also has an excellent location.
