Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.

GermanyUpstairs on the third floor is an 18 years old plus pool in which three families were with kids making a lot of noise and taking up the little space in that pool that is supposed to be for adults only. The hotel seems to be better for families with kids, the big pool area downstairs was crowded all day with small kids. Maybe an extra kids pool with areas for play could help to create more space for different groups. The good at the restaurant was not great and the service both in the restaurant and bar was very slow.
The hotel is nice, big pool, spacious and comfortable rooms and quiet, great location right across the beach.

United StatesThere was no pool bar or beach bar service (no drinks, snacks, etc.) when we were staying at the hotel the week before Christmas. That was very disappointing. There seemed to be quite a bit of renovations going on.

PeruNo AC (they offered a fan though); internet connection in the room was very poor; there were not enough towels for all the guests (both in the pool and in the room); odd room's layout (closet was in the bathroom); the night entertainment could be improved; there's nothing walking distance from the hotel.
Both swimming pools were quite nice; it was beachfront; the bed was comfy and the restaurant had a fair variaty of dishes (breakfast was ok).

The resort was nice with a very large pool. We were on our way to Paracas so only stopped for the night and did not take advantage of the facilities. We stayed in a room that had 2 queens bed and a king with a shared bathroom. The room was a nice size and had a view to the pool.

Canadasurfaces get dusty very fast, mostly from the ocean breeze, and rust shows on metal applications like balconies. Access to the property needs work, as it is easy to miss the exit from the highway. It could use a MUCH SOONER and LARGER SIGN at the highway to allow for time and preparation to take the exit into the beach resort.
Great breakfast buffet, natural fruit juices, local delicacies, plenty of options. Entertainment for the whole family, private access to the beach, staff is very attentive.

United StatesFacilities were okay, but I believe they need to do some painting. This was my second visit, the first visit was in the middle of summer and the walls and stair railings needed some paint, nothing changed. In my second visit I found a roach in the bedroom in the middle of the night (We were in the 3rd floor), my girlfriend was disgusted but we were really tired and decided to wait until the next day to let the front desk know. This was the bad experience. Overall, VPX can do better if they show they maintain their facilities better. Staff was great, that is the reason why I returned.
The staff was great! Were extremely accommodating and always with a good demeanor when giving service. The front desk lady went above and beyond her line of duty to help me find a device I thought I lost at the hotel. For that, I am very appreciative.

United Stateswe rented 4 rooms for a group. 1) The rooms lacked basic supplies for meals and drinking and cleaning 2) Cleaning service was inconsistent and not always done well 3) the light in 2 of the bedrooms flickered on and off consistently 4) bugs were rampant and clearly no bug control is being done. 5) the landscaping and plants don’t look to be cared for very well 6) the women’s bathroom by the pool was flooded for a good portion of the day this past Friday 7) food service at the restaurant was slow, and food was average quality and very expensive compared to all other local restaurants 8) two of the bathtubs of our rooms had a very bad leak and the room had to be changed 9) room keys constantly had to be renewed as we were constantly being locked out of our rooms despite not putting them near our cell phones 10) beach was not well kept up with trash left in the sand; cans, bottles, bottle caps, cigarette butts, etc 11) minimal blankets and towels were provided for the room. 12) living room lamp did not work 13) music was loud at night past 10pm and rooms are not sound proof, Monday morning at 7am 14) wifi did not work well 15) one of the televisions did not work 16) most of the game equipment was not functional or broken

AustraliaNo air conditioning. The system didn’t work and they even bother to tell us at the check in. When we complained at the reception they just told us that the problem was in all rooms so they couldn’t give us another room. No remorse from their end at all. We later found that there were rooms with air conditioning as we had some friends staying there. We had to open the windows during the night but all the mosquitoes enter the room so we could not sleep at all. Not going back there. The front desk staff can not solve anything, not even issuing a tax invoice.

United StatesThe key needs to be in place to turn on lights and they only gave us one key. When we would leave, the lights would then be off thusctelling burglars no one is home. A big security risk.
