I’ve been to Iquitos many times and stayed in several hotels in the area, and the staff at the Fitzcarrald are by far the warmest, friendliest, and most hospitable. The breakfasts are lovely - tasty fruit, eggs however you like them, good bread, tamales and coffee. The service is great! The property is in a good area too, it’s very close to town but in a quiet area, a short distance from the malecón. It’s also very easy to get taxis directly outside the hotel. My bed was super comfortable and I slept so well here :) The air conditioning functions perfectly and the rooms are kept very clean every day. The staff were really kind and helpful when my flight got cancelled - I had checked out but they gave me my room back for no extra cost for the rest of the day, until my rescheduled flight later that night. I loved it - it’s understated, very comfortable and super friendly.

We have stayed at this hotel for three days during our trip to Iquitos (province of Loreto, Peruvian Amazonia). The hotel is located in 5 minutes by a motocarro (tuk-tuk) ride from Iquitos ENAPU ferry terminal where all boats arriving from Peruvian border village Santa Rosa berth at and 400 m away from the city's famous landmark Ferrous House and very close to the Itaya riverbank promenade. All buses going to the local lake and leisure area Quistoqocha stop some steps aside the hotel's entrance door. - My and my friend's rooms were clean and tidy, cleaning was done everyday. - All facilities in the rest room were functioning OK, there was hot water in the shower. - Hearty breakfasts were served everyday with a choice of cooked eggs (omelette, fried egg, scrumbled egg with cheese, tomatoes or pork), bread with butter and jam, fruit salads, tropical fruit juices and a choice of coffee (black or with milk). - The receptionist Andre spoke a very good English and was ready to help. - The lady who owned the hotel was polite and kind, she was exchanging us USD into Peruvian currency at a good rate, helped to catch a bus passing by a park with local Amazon animals, fish and plants and before our departure gave a repellent tube to use it on our way back to Colombia.

Giving us another room for a great deal. She made us breakfast and it was very good and so much of it. Very close to the square and a lot of other places. This is a great place to stay!

Spotlessly clean and air con was really good! The breakfast was amazing too! Fabriola is so kind and lovely. She treated me like my mom:) Other staff and especially Pierre was super friendly and helpful too. They helped me organize the boat trip in Amazon river and to the butterfly farm. I had a great time staying in Fitzcarrald Hotel and will definitely come back :)

It’s a hidden gem in Iquitos. Fabiola, the owner, was always there to take care of you. They even took care of the other guests when I arrived early morning not making any noise to them. For sure I recommend this hotel and will go back. The smart tv in the room and fast wifi internet was a game changer in a city where internet is not good.

It’s not everyday that you go to a hotel and get hugs and motherly affection. Though I was there for only 5 hours, I was beyond impressed by the kindness and thoughtfulness of the owners/managers.

Excellent breakfast and service. The owner and staff were incredibly helpful, friendly, and accommodating. The room was large, very clean and tidy. I was looking for a quiet hotel to give myself some much-needed rest before traveling into the rainforest. This was exactly what I experienced at Fitzcarrald Hotel. The hotel is centrally located in Iquitos with easy access to all the city offers. Muchos gracias, amor y luz.

We spent the night in Iquitos either side of our trip out to an Amazon lodge, we loved our stay here and even looked forward to returning after our trip. It was clean and comfortable and the staff were friendly and helpful and clearly pride themselves on delivering a nice stay to all their guests. The showers we hot and the aircon was great after coming from a cooler climate to the heat of the jungle. Breakfast was nice and fresh and the young man at reception helped us organise laundry and airport transfers very helpful, thank you for our stay!

United StatesThis was the second time I was staying at Fitzcarrald, after we finished our stay at the Amazon lodge. Again the hotel was quiet from the motor noise at night. The hotel manager spoke good English, was highly reliable and responsive and was always ready to help. The transportation from and to the airport the manager arranged was punctual and reasonably priced. Again the hotel is very clean. The breakfast was prepared fresh on the spot and served to our table by the kitchen staff who added greatly to the hotel. I personally would recommend Fitzcarrald hotel to Amazon visitors like us.
