The area is very good, quiet. Literally a few minutes walk from the historical center. Very tasty breakfast, very nice service. An additional advantage is a takeaway breakfast when you leave for a trip early in the morning (it's a pity that it was supposed to be vegetarian, and unfortunately the sandwiches were with meat) and the possibility of storing your luggage. I definitely recommend it.

The terrace is only open for breakfast, so there's no outside area or garden available, but that is a minor thing given how terrific the Fundador is. In fact, the little street in front of the hotel is lined with park benches, so....

An exceptionally good value! Hotel Fundador is modern and comfortable while still having a cozy feel to it. I am not exaggerating when I say that every single staff person was outstanding--professional, friendly, helpful. The front desk staff especially. They helped me arrange Spanish lessons, tours, gave advice about the city.... Breakfast is served on the 5th floor, with lovely views of the city, the mountains, and Misti. The outdoor terrace is very nice. And the breakfast! A varied selection of superb quality. My room (just a single) was spacious, the bathroom very modern, plenty of closet space and super super clean. I cannot recommend this place enough. Oh, and the location! A 5 minute walk to La Plaza de Armas, tons of restos, shops, etc. all around, but in a nice tranquil plaza in San Lazaro neighborhood.

Noise from street loud due to youngsters gathering in road drinking into early hours of the morning. Noisy with window closed, but needed to open window as no air conditioning & room was too hot. Water pressure in shower not very good.

We really have no complaints - the only issue is that due to an international mining conference our rate was over 3x the posted rack rate - very expensive for Arequipa.

Maybe the location was pretty tricky to get there, but the route from there to the center was formidable.

One thing that could really use an improvement was the plumbing in the shower; The water swung from super hot to freezing cold every 15 seconds or so, and the exit pipe is too narrow, so that after a few minutes, you're ankle-deep in water. Strange really, given how new and smart everything else is. Breakfast had plenty of options, and staff were terrific, but there's room for a healthier option - cereal and fresh fruit looks healthy, but the cereal has no fibre and is full of sugar; the flat white bread rolls are quite unhealthy too.

Location in the oldest part of town was great, peaceful (except for the city anniversary concert below my balcony), and with a good atmosphere; this is a trade-off against the 700m to the Plaza Mayor. Housekeeping did a good job. The room was very spacious and came with a huge balcony. Reception staff were very helpful and friendly. Everything was pretty new and in good condition.

I got an inner court yard room, that means there are no windows to the outside, there was a window to the inside of the hotel. Not of my liking, I asked the reception if I could change to a room with a window to the outside, but there was no room available. For breakfast there are 5 options - and you can only choose one option, e.g. a sandwich or fruits. That is being too thrifty, for an otherwise good hotel in many ways. Fruits are so healthy and should be included. My suggestion is that you should be able to choose two options out of five.

Extremely helpful staff - they would help with everything. Standard of the hotel and room was very good. Location is good, in a relatively quiet place and only 10 min walk to the main square.

Wi-Fi could have been better, and the elevator was out of service our entire stay. Traveled with my mom who has trouble going up stairs because of her knee.

Breakfast was amazing, staff was accommodating, and it’s location made it quick n easy to walk to the plaza de armas and other locations.
