How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Very noisy : loud music and conversations until late and roaster crowing at 5 am Breakfast is poor: toasts with jelly and eggs Hair dryer would have been useful My window did not completely close

Location of the hotel can get noisy with passing cars playing music and buses and trucks driving in front of hotel. Hotel is a bit far from center of town but it is still walking distance. Shower isn't fully enclosed with a shower curtain so water will splash all over the bathroom floor.
Staff were very helpful with requests. Terrace was very nice, and breakfast is also served there. Rooms have a balcony that was very useful.

Breakfast is minimal by Peruvian standards.
Basic digs at the edge of the village with very friendly and helpful staff. It's about a 10 minute walk to the malecon, but this means it is quiet. You may hear dogs and roosters, but you won't hear partiers or loud music.

But further from the Main Street in Parancas - but Parancas is small so no issue
The balcony, lightness of the room. The host let us in earlier then check-in time and they made breakfast earlier so we could catch out boat tour on time with a filled stomach

Some things should be a bit renewed, like the pillows at the pool. Breakfast could have a bit more variations.
Very nice guesthouse in the village, walking distance from the center. Nice little pool in the courtyard. Nice rooftop for breakfast.

No airco, room was quiet hot so there was a ventilator that we put on, but I had a cold afterwards so not the best experience so far.
They prepared breakfast 20’ early (7:10 instead of 7:30) as the islands tour started early.

The room and the breakfast were a bit basic. The pool awning was broken so it was very hot sitting out there without shade.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Nice to have a pool and the roof terrace was great for sunset.

Suuuuuuper loud music playing all day, and the fan in the room is also really loud. Too loud to sleep with the fan on. Too hot to sleep with it off.

The breakfast was a little limited but still edible and able to provide a start to the day.
There’s a lot to like about this place. The pool is clean and glorious on a hot day, the staff were helpful, the location is not in the heart of tourist noise, which we really liked as it was walking distance to better restaurants etc without being too far away. Frankly I don’t rate the tourist heart ofparacas which is just rip off central.

There wasn’t a shower door or curtain so the floor got very wet and there weren’t any hooks for the towels

I was not char ged the posted rate on booking ,com. They added a US $12 per day fee. They refused to reverse this fee.

Really nice and helpful staff. The room was clean, if needed it wasn’t problem to ask for cleaning. The city centre was close as well as bars and restaurants. On the other hand the surrounding was quite.

Bit off the main area but totally safe and easy to get around. Just a few minutes walk , it a problem at all just good to know!
Clean and comfortable, very friendly . Pool was very refreshing and good to have as the sea is not so nice to swim in!

Very nice host and very friendly staff, i just feel the cleaness in the room could be a bit a better there were stains on the bedsheets and the shower was not very clean, location was very good though i would recommend it still

Extremely friendly and helpful staff, they made us feel so welcome, offered their help in arranging tours and recommended restaurants to us. The place was spotless clean, and even if we got the room covered in sand every day because of some sandstorms, they cleaned the room every day and somehow managed to get it spotless clean again. Beds were comfortable and the shower hot. Highly recommended to stay here!
