Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.

IrelandWe stayed approximately 36 hours here merely to catch an early morning flight and to do some work. We had booked a twin room with private bathroom but ended up staying in what looked like an unfinished room with external bathroom on the top floor of the building which is not featured in any of the photos of that room type. The room itself was absolutely freezing and we had to sleep in all our clothes to stay warm. It consisted of two bunk beds with no top mattresses and offensive slang scribbled in marker on one of the bed frames. The shower was also freezing and after asking a staff member for help it seemed like something had been done but the water was still cold for the entire time. On the second evening we discovered that people staying in the room next door who were short term check-ins were also using our bathroom. When we went to complain about this there was no one available who spoke English. The morning of our flight we were up early to discover no water in the tap and the toilet wasn't flushing. Once again as we checked out there was no one who spoke English so we could not bring up our issues. Were it not for the fact we were staying for such a short amount of time with transfers and other services prebooked we would have checked out early and stayed elsewhere.

United StatesThis was the worst hotel experience I had sleeping in 120x locations over the past 4 months of travel through South America. The room was an interior room with no window or air circulation, it smelled severely of exhaust - so much so that my clothes smelled of it 4x days later, there was literally zero water coming out of the tap in my en-suite, I woke the next day with bed bug bites all over my hands and lastly when I asked to cancel my second night, the owner agreed and then never did charging me full price. Booking.com’s support team did nothing to resolve this. Do not stay here.
The location and people. Everything else was awful.

United KingdomVisited in June and it was very cold in the room and breakfast area. The bed was ok with blankets. Shower was only hot if used at very low water pressure so it wasn't very enjoyable.
Nice hosts, friendly, sorted out taxi pick up from airport. The location is excellent. 10 minutes to the main square, an excellent food market and many good cafes and restaurants nearby.

DenmarkUnfortunately I found a lot of black hair in the bed, in the towels and on the floor. I’ve stayed here before where it was a problem as well. The building doesn’t have any sound insulation- basically very very thin walls which meant you could hear everything and everyone. The family that runs the hotel uses the breakfast area on the ground floor as a living room, and due to the thin walls, they were very very noisy. I barely slept during my stay because of the noise they made. At one time I had to tell them to keep their voices down. Also, the breakfast could be improved. The buns are dry like sand.
The room was very bright and had a comfortable bed. The staff was also very nice and greeting, always smiling and ready to help. I asked for a room with views of the street instead of a dark room with a view to another room - and they gladly helped me. The location is great though it’s situated a few minutes away from the old San Blas neighbourhood. They had a very cute dog and a cat as well.
