The water pressure in the showers isn’t amazing but the entire accommodation is spotless.

The host really made us feel at home and was accommodating in every way imaginable! Water and a snack in the room when we arrived, clear directions on safety and a mosquito net (after hearing dengue horror stories we were glad with this one!). We could leave our luggage during the day as our night bus left late, and he even waited outside with us as we were safe in our Uber and gave us a bottle of water for on the way.

There is no better place to stay in Trujillo than here. The host is as warm and friendly as we have ever experienced. We arrived in Trujillo on a night bus and were allowed to check in much earlier. So we even got the larger room at no additional cost. The host helped us wherever he could, printed out our bus tickets, gave us a cold bottle of water and a snack every day and tried to do everything with our poor knowledge of Spanish. Everything was perfect, the room was incredibly clean, the facilities were excellent and we can only recommend this accommodation with all our hearts.

We loved the location, the cosiness of the accommodation, our host Felipe was so friendly and helpful and we had parking for our motorbike included. We also loved how clean the hostel was and we felt very safe here too.

This is a fabulous place to stay in Trujillo. Felipe the very kind owner made us feel very welcome and at home. Everything is spotlessly clean. The area is quiet and safe yet only 10 minutes walk from the main plaza. Great shower and very comfortable bed.

We liked everything about the property.

We loved our stay at Hostal Donde Alberto. If you venture to northern Peru to see the impressive ruins around Trujillo, we recommend staying here. Felipe & his wife Elisabet, are very friendly & caring. Felipe was very helpful in answering questions before we left Australia & during our stay. After a long overnight bus journey the refreshing hot drinks on arrival were the perfect welcoming touch. The bedroom was a good size & the bed comfortable. There was fan in case it was too warm, & a large wardrobe. Although separate, the bathroom was just opposite our room & private, not to mention large. Hot water was always available as there was an instantaneous system. Hooks in the bathroom are often rare when travelling so we were pleased to see them here! We liked the location because it was a little out of the central madness but it was only a 10 minute walk to Plaza de Armas. There’s a little supermarket on the corner (just a 30 second walk away). It has a cafe that serves paninis, etc & there’s cheese, ham, bread, etc, if you want to make your own. We felt very safe & secure - probably the most we’ve ever felt travelling - as there are very good security features & you get a key to open the front gate, so you won’t get locked out. Felipe feels more like a friend than just an owner & we definitely recommend staying here.

We loved it here. Lovely traditional property, well cared for, spotless, comfortable, spacious accommodation with everything you need for a restful and enjoyable stay. We loved the location. Nice residential side street with fresh bread, groceries, good eateries and a wide range of services all a short walk away. Also just 10 minutes walk to the Plaza de Armas and the historic city centre. And next to the university so well-connected, no problem getting a taxi for Chan Chan or Oval Grau for Moche. Most of all we loved the hosts here. Felipe, helped by Elizabeth, are wonderful. So welcoming, caring, and attentive. Yes you can message ahead of your stay and soon receive a thoughtful reply. Yes they like having guests and are happy for you to ask, to help you enjoy your stay. It's a calm, restful, happy place, just what we needed. Thank you both very much! What else? Motorbikes are welcome and parking here is great, off-street, secure, and on-site.

Our stay at Hostal Donde Alberto was amazing. We only stayed for one night and was very impressed with everything. The bedroom was spacious and clean, and it had complimentary snacks and water. The bathroom and shower was very clean and had hot water. The best part was the host. He woke up at 4 am and called us a taxi to the airport. we were short a few soles so he gave us the extra 5 soles we needed. We would highly recommend this hostal to any of our friends and family.

- Felipe is the best host: very attentive (very early checkin agreed prior to arrival, all very smooth), patient enough to bear our fairly low level of Spanish (and we still managed to have a great talk), always available via WhatsApp in case of questions/requests... - the room is great value for price, big and bed is super comfy. Everything is very clean (room is done everyday)

The host was extremely friendly and helpful from the beginning of my stay. He was always available to answer questions about the accommodation and about the city of Trujillo. He accommodated my schedule for the room cleanings, and went out of his way to provide additional amenities that I requested, including a microwave. I felt very safe at his residence. I would highly recommend to anyone traveling to Trujillo.
