How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Extremely well run guest house. Comfortable room, good shower and nice breakfast at the café next door included in the price. Location is good. The owner helped me book a reliable driver for local sightseeing. Highly recommended and very good value for money.

As booking.com in Peru gave me currency in USD for my booking owner tried to makes us pay in Soles with a commission rate (mark up) of 25% over the day usd to soles rate. After long discussion the owner decreased the mark up to 2%. Also they tried to makes us pay another night for a room we have checked out of, saying we didn't tell them we checked out. At the end they accepted we had checked out. The hotel is nice, breakfast is great, very clean but it's very annoying that they tried to takes us for a fool.
Location close to main square and inca sites, clean.

Great location right in the centre of Ollantaytambo and very close to the ruins - in fact we could see them from outside our window. Also very close to the train station - perfect for going to Machu Picchu.

The best place that I stayed at in Peru. It was incredible value for money and was better than all of the other hotels I stayed at, some of which cost three times the price. Booked for two nights but ended up staying for a week. Family owned business and the owners are very good and helpful people. On my last night they helped me book a taxi to the airport and woke up at 3am to make sure it arrived and I got off smoothly. Could not rate this hotel and the owners more highly.

Location was great, breakfast was excellent. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Room did get a bit chilly at times, but plenty of blankets were made available. No issues with getting hot water from the shower.

A bit small room. Matress layer feels a bit uncomfortable.
Good location a bit off the center but very quiet at night and super close to the main archaeolocical site. Very friendly stuff helped us book a tour further.

A very clean and comfortable place to stay-the host was very friendly and very helpful and they cleaned my room every day and it was a great value and a very comfortable place to stay right in the middle of town and breakfast next-door with the lovely two sisters was wonderful

Angela was so considerate and packed breakfast for us because we were leaving before the hotel breakfast began. This was so nice and unexpected, and we sure needed that food during our excursion!

- Do not expect a mountain or garden view from your room (even though, it is specified in the booking option). For a mountain view, you need to go upstairs to the common balcony from the courtyard.
- The Receptionist during check-in (an older gentleman) was friendly and helpful. - The room was clean. - I liked the breakfast served in the restaurant next door (included in the booking fee).

One guy took a 30min long phone call in the courtyard and was heard probably by the entire hotel. So soundproofing is not the best but not a big deal
Very clean hotel located at the perfect spot. The lady at the front desk was very helpful and friendly. Breakfast is included and is at the cafe downstairs. Very very good breakfast.

Very clean floor and bathroom. Amazingly soft and fresh smelling towels. Nice firm bed. Simple but excellent breakfast made-to-order with freshly squeezed juice and a proper coffee machine.
