Our check-in was a little chaotic and the Wi-Fi was gone for a long time and reception was non-existent in our room.

A little older hostel, but it definitely has charme and is quite social. The hot showers are nice and it's not too far from the historic center.

Although the location is very close to the city centre, I found the street in which the hostel is located to a little unpleasant at times. However, most of the streets surrounding the city centre are similar and it was not too bad.

Sergio, the manager, is absolutely brilliant. He is very friendly and extremely helpful. I stayed at Hostel Rivendell pn three separate occasions, with hikes in between each stay. During each hike I was able to leave my extra luggage and valuables at the hostel with the knowledge that Sergio would look after it. The beds are comfy, rooms are clean, showers are hot and there is a nice common area in the middle which is great for meeting fellow travelers.

Very nice rooms and space to chill in the patio. Nice beds and enough blankets for the cold. There is also a kitchen you can use which is very nice.

There was a small problem with the water when I was there. If there are a lot of people staying in the hostel (and showering presumably) then late at night the water would sometimes go out. I got the sense that this was a temporary problem and that Sergio is working to fix it, but it was still frustrating at the time. He made up for it in other ways though.

I stayed at Hostel Rivendell for several days when I first arrived in Cusco. The owner, Sergio, was very friendly and helped me to plan the rest of my trip and give me recommendations. The ambience is very relaxing and the name Rivendell really suits it as a place of refuge for weary travelers like myself. I really like the outside area in particular, perfect for barbecuing and relaxing.

Great hostel. Hot showers all the time, small lockers for valuables, a simple breakfast, good location, and great vibes / friendly guests. The owner is very attentive and helpful. I'd definitely recommend it.

I went on a solo trip to Cusco and was looking for a good deal on accommodations near the city centre. This hotel didn't dissapoint me as it was in a great location. The rooms were big and clean. I will recommend anyone to book here as the staff are really friendly and the atmosphere around was amazing.

The owner was really cool and made us feel really welcome. It felt like a home away from home. Everyone staying there was great and we ended up staying much longer than we planned. If you want to stay somewhere that is a good price, with good people you can’t do better than this hostel. It’s located in centre and if you ask the guys on site what’s going on, they really have a finger on the pulse in terms of where to go, what to do..

I spent few days in this hostel but felt home since the first moment! Sergio, the owner of the hostel, has been really helpful, kind and such a sociable person! This hostel is for sure a very important part of this travel experience in Peru and in Cusco. Our room was cozy and clean, such as bathroom, kitchen and common room. I will 100% go back there tomorrow! Great team and great people in this brand new hostel in Cusco city! Hasta pronto!

Showers were often unclean, the hob in the kitchen needs instructions as it can be dangerous and the room got cold at night (though blankets were provided so not a major issue).

Staff were really friendly and location was ideal (quiet and out the way but near to the centre - approx 10mins walk).

The showers were sometimes causint problem and they are in the garden. In cold weather it becomes annoying.

Sergio is an amazing guy. He was so cool and helpful. Also the garden is beautiful to have rest and chat with other people

It was a little dirty, the private room had lots of hair left on the floor from a previous guest and the back bathroom looked like it was never cleaned

The host is amazing. He kept my things all the time even though I thought I would move several days but never did. He was helpful when the room was filled and I told him I would leave but he gave me a private for the same price. And when I arrived late that night after another tour he gave me the ability to shower and he is the best!

The kitchen and the bathrooms (especially the sinks) were really dirty.
