Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Great location in a quiet street but still close to Plaza de Armas (~ 10min walk). Staff were super attentive and even prepared 2x a breakfast box for us when we had to leave early in the morning and also were able to keep some of our luggage over 4 days when we did the Salkantay Trek.

United StatesTook forever for the water to warm up. Other guests were in the courtyard visiting loudly until around 2 am and we could hear everything.
Comfortable beds, location and service was excellent. Taxi to the airport in the morning was why we chose the hotel too.

GermanyWe had a lower floor room with a large uncomfortable sofa. Not as private feeling as the cheaper and much better upper floor room. No water in room (mean) and no tea making equipment.
Very decent, charming hotel with a good location. Breakfast good and pleasant staff.

NetherlandsOne member of staff gave a recommendation that landed one of us in hospital. When we arrived in Cusco, I explained I wanted something chilled to acclimatise, he recommended to go to the Rainbow Mountain and assured me that on horseback it would be chilled. One of us developed high altitude pulmonary oedema. He never apologised genuinely for this. He seemed to prioritise on commissions agreed with tour agencies than on basic safety. Furthermore, as a result we had to change itinerary, which required to cancel one night with them. When I requested a free cancellation through Booking.com, hotel staff answered that the free cancellation would be conditional on me “not penalising them”. Note that it is quite a steep walk upwards to reach the hotel from the Plaza de Armas.
Cozy, clean, with spacious rooms, well decorated in Andean style. They have a charming little terrace and some rooms have a spectacular view. Some of the staff were really helpful, appropriately concerned when we needed help.

CanadaOne of those places where the wifi doesn't reach all the rooms (even on the ground floor by front counter). The walls are very thin - we could hear people talk to front counter. The bathroom could use an upgrade.
Very good breakfast. Personal was really kind and welcoming. Baggage storage available. Up a quiet street, at a 5-10 mins walking distance from the heart of the historical centre.

NetherlandsThey wanted to charge us $20 for an early check in and that wasn’t mentioned anywhere. Even though the rooms were ready and we were exhausted, they said it’s company policy but I looked it up everywhere and it never stated that. The rooms are not functional, if you are staying for several days, there is no closet so you kind of need to put your stuff on the floor. Also, the room we got advertised that we would get robes and slippers but that didn’t happen.
The hotel has nice decoration and the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was nice and the location is good (a bit steep but close to the plaza). They have a heater that works nicely and the water pressure is great. They have hot water all day. The rooms are spacious.

TurkeyThe hotel needs to be renovated. Especially the toilet. The ground shakes and makes noise when walking because of the age of it. The room and bathroom is cold. I was expecting a better room, therefore stayed only for 1 night.
Breakfast was decent and maybe the location.

SpainThe place itself it’s pretty and close to everything. The room is great and beds at super comfy… however our experience was quite bad as they gave us the room right next to the dinning area with two windows looking at the tables hence no privacy at all and extremely noisy. Not happy with our experience but I believe the hotel is really nice with a different room with views like we were expecting by the pictures

BelgiumBreakfast was not a buffet as advertised, and was served semi-outside, which was very cold. Our room (nr 11) did not match the pictures (much smaller) and we had a lot of light and noise in our room (6am: maintenance started getting supplies in the room next to us; and throughout the night - morning: lots of people coming back drunk or leaving early for tours). We left after 2 days although we had 8 more days in cusco. Although we had a booking discount, it was still not worth the price, our later bookings were much better
The presence of a heater was so nice! The room was clean and the beds were comfi

Brazilthe Wi-Fi was very slow. it’s a public Wi-Fi with no password . we couldn’t watch a movie because the movie paused every 10 seconds. Loved that it was energy sustainable , but we couldn’t leave our devices charging in the room since the energy worked with a card. Next time I will ask the staff to leave it charging for us.
Loved the staff and service we received at Hotel Boutique Gold Garden. they treated us like royalty. The second portion of what I loved from the hotel was THE ROOM! it was spacious!!! and the view was BEAUTIFUL! In addition, they gift you: toothbrush, toothpaste, shaver, make up remover, Qtips, shampoo w conditioner, sewing tools! it was marvelous. even the bathroom had a beautiful view! I just loved the space and the lack of steps inside the room. the bed was comfortable. The breakfast was delicious! we bought big water bottles for affordable prices. We completed Caminos del Inca and they prepared a Lunchbox for us at 4 AM! and we left our Carry one at the front until we were back from caminos del Inca and we weren’t staying there after (it was booked). We have to mention Juan and Miguel who were just amazing with us when we arrived at late hours and set us off at 4 AM. As I said , wonderful staff small walk from the plaza de armas . about 0.2 miles . great for those who want to put their health first and walk to Plaza de Armas!
