Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesFor a resort, it seemed a little odd that they restricted the poolside bar to only fully clothed patrons… a silly borderline imposed between the open pool patio and sun shaded bar.
After staying one night in the city center at a less than desirable hotel, we moved on to this place to retrieve our sanity… and it worked. A pleasant stay at this resort with plenty of amenities… nice restaurant and bar.

United StatesThe breakfast buffet gets tired real fast. It's juice, bread, bacon, and omelets. There's not one rotating station, it's pretty much rinse repeat.
The pool slide was a hit for my 7 year old. The staff also tried to put together some activities during the day like archery, games, dancing, etc. The staff let us check in early, which was a god sent after traveling for 13 hours on a bus from Arequipa. There are so many things for kids, there's horseback ridding. All types of sports and biking, multiple pools. The staff was amazing, Luis 1, 2, and 3 work at the restaurant and bars. The spa and gym are also in great step, and the spa is reasonably priced. The al a cart menu is well seasoned and has a decent spread. It is a small resort, so anything more than 3 nights will probably get monotonous.

United StatesThis is a very nice resort, with several pools, a giant dune on the rear, a lot of green spaces, two restaurants and a bar close to the main pool. The crazy ride on the dunes can be bought here. Breakfast is included and good, but more choices, especially gluten and dairy free would be appreciated.

United StatesThe guestrooms are large but somewhat spartan.
The property is beautiful with spacious, meticulously kept grounds and multiple swimming pools. Located inside a very large walled compound with horses, peacocks, walking paths, and ornamental pools, it is a safe, quiet oasis. The wait staff in the main restaurant were very attentive and accommodating

Canadalocation was about as far as one can get from Huacachina! Although gated and fenced, it seemed to be in the middle of an industrial park. No walkability outside the property. Room wasn’t spectacular for the price. shower took forever to heat up…
Beautiful property and amenities.

Canadathe wifi isn’t great. we told them our unit didn’t have wifi and they just told us to log into another rooms wifi. We were left without wifi at many moments. Walls are thin and no window in the bathroom so you can hear what’s happening outside (very common but a bit unexpected from a luxury resort). prices on site reflect North American prices.
if you plan on relaxing this is the place to be! many pools and activities to keep the kids busy (this place is very family oriented!!), they try to keep a divide between adults and kids. hotel is very clean. ac and heating is great! a lot of staff on the site which means you never have to look too hard to get some help! overall if you’re looking for a good time I would 100% recommend Las Dunas. if you want this as your base to visit Ica and surroundings: it’s a bit out of the way but the safe neighborhood really is an added bonus!

United StatesEven though breakfast was free, I felt there could be some room for improvement. There are not a lot of options and it didn’t compare at all to our dinner the night before. We did arrive late, so things were a bit cold and worked over.
Wow. This place is a little oasis tucked within the desert and so far was my parents favorite hotel as we traveled through Peru. The grounds are immaculate and incredibly inviting, the staff incredibly attentive and kind, and the food was amazing. Even though we had planed to escape to the dunes for a sunset tour, we preferred staying in our large, cozy rooms instead. We felt totally restored after staying here. My parents (who are not very travel savvy or culinarily adventurous) RAVED about the food. Trust me, you can’t beat this location. It was definitely worth the price! Even though we didn’t have kids in our group, I kept thinking about how perfect it would be for a large group of children—with lots of local entertainment and a series of immaculate pools!!

United Statesvery complicated layout makes it difficult to find your building. The hotel sent ahead of time online checkin to save time, however it was ALL in Spanish. Although we are not Peruvian citizens, they charged us VAT which we notice after checking in. They will refund us the charge amount, but it will take 5-7 days to post back towards our Credit Card.
