Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesJoel & his wife were fantastic hosts. They collected us 3 hours later than planned after a train delay and made sure we were comfortable during our two nights at their home. Staying on the floating islands is truly a unique and unforgettable experience. It gets very cold at night so make sure to wrap up warm, but the beds are very comfortable with many blankets. Our cabin had incredible views across the lake. Joel organized a tour for us to the Taquile islands including lunch for 100 soles per person. He also showed us around the Uros islands in his boat which was fascinating. We highly recommend this stay for a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

LithuaniaI had the pleasure of staying one night with a lovely local family on Uros Island, and it was an experience I'll never forget. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by the host family who went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and enjoyment throughout our brief stay. The hospitality was outstanding, with the family preparing delicious meals for us and organizing fantastic excursions to explore the beauty of the island. Their genuine care and attention made us feel like part of their family, and we were truly touched by their kindness. The accommodation itself exceeded our expectations. The house was beautifully decorated and equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The highlight was definitely the huge bed and panoramic windows offering stunning views of the surrounding landscape. Plus, the heater provided kept us cozy during the chilly night. To top it all off, the family even surprised us with a thoughtful parting gift before we left, further demonstrating their warmth and generosity. It was an excellent experience! If you're looking for an authentic and unforgettable experience on Uros Island, look no further than this wonderful homestay with an incredible local family.

GermanyThe water pressure in the shower was absolutely minimal, albeit hot during daytime.
We felt very much welcome from start to finish and had a great stay here - good communication with the host, pickup by boat and warm reception, a delicious dinner of grilled trout and a very good breakfast, information about the pueblo and life in the Uros community, hot water bottles for the night, and the host even brought a boat around when I wanted to have a swim in the lake. It was lovely enjoying the daytime sun and a nighttime thunderstorm from behind the huge windows and underneath some wonderfully warm blankets! Fully recommend this place!

United KingdomDon’t expect luxury! The facilities are very basic but that is part of their ‘get away from it all’ charm. There is a ‘compost’ toilet and I couldn’t get the running water to run very much at all. The building is basically a shack built on reeds but is spacious and has 2 huge picture windows overlooking the lake and a verandah. There is no tv or anything like that but there are USB ports to charge phones.
If you want to ‘get back to basics’ in the most tranquil (and beautiful) location imaginable then if you go here you’ll have gone to the right place! I arrived at Puno station at about 6.30pm and a waiting taxi took me to the boat departure point where the accommodation owner was waiting with a covered boat and a blanket (it was raining). It is about a 20 min ride to the island. I couldn’t see much as it was dark but the guy obviously knew exactly what he was doing and where he was going. On arrival I was offered an evening meal (at very reasonable cost) and a flask of hot water and tea bags. And a bottle of cold water. There was a portable gas heater which was on and the owner (Joel) made it very clear I could keep it on as long as I liked. I needed WiFi and the only way to achieve it was for him to leave me his own phone and connect by tethering. That obviously meant he was without his own phone for the evening. Now that is going the extra mile! He couldn’t have been more helpful. In the morning he brought me a nice breakfast including a cooked omelette, yoghurt, coffee, fresh fruit and bread. Opening the curtains to see the Lake on a beautiful morning was quite something. Then I was treated to a personal boat transfer back to the dock, an unforgettable journey with a few small detours on the way to point out some interesting locations around the lake. And at the dock the taxi Joel had arranged to take me to Juliaca airport was waiting. Everything worked like clockwork due to Joel’s professionalism and organisation. He had thought of everything. The bed is huge, very comfortable and the covers are very warm. As I left the island his wife handed me a lovingly hand made necklace with a little boat on it.

FranceIf you are staying in Uros, look no further. Remember, you are staying on an island so a good communication with the host is crucial and you can't find a better host than Joel. He personally picks you up at the port in his boat, takes care of the breakfast (included) and dinner (s30). He really cares about his guests and makes sure you have everything you need. He helps you with the day trips, with your transportation from and to Puno or the airport of Juliaca. He even arranged me a taxi to the airport that was s50 cheaper than the normal price ! The room is more like a little house, it's very spacious with beautiful views over the lake. next to it is a private outside bed. Breakfast and dinner are simple, healthy but very delicious !

All was perfect from the beginning to the end of our stay. One of the nicest people that I met in my life. They took care of us from the first step on their little island in the middle of the lake. The place is the best, and the owners of this lodge are the best too. Very recommended

New ZealandThat we didn’t stay longer.
What a wonderful off grid experience. Staying with Joel and Luzy is a must do! They are fabulous hosts and make your stay so easy and memorable. They have 3 rooms and we enjoyed a 2 night stay in the larger family room. The beds are super comfy, loads of blankets and a hotwater bottle is delivered after dinner. Room has a gas heater too but we didn’t use it. There is lots of furniture inside and out to relax on. Luzy cooks a great breakfast of fruit and juice, coffee and omelettes with avocado . We ate dinner there both nights. The food is simple home cooked , tasty and fresh. I am gluten free and Luzy accommodated me brilliantly. There was always a thermos of hotwater on request for making tea and coffee. They even had a bottle of wine to sell to us. Joel transfers from the mainland to and from the island and we also did a 2 hour tour around the Uros Island community. Joel was knowledgeable and showed us the best highlights. While I have eluded to off grid it should be noted that you are on a floating island!! There is a compost loo and shower water is from the lake and solar heated. There is no wifi but my own data worked well.

They have amazing food. We had dinner and breakfast there. Joel organized airport pickup and dropoff. It was so easy to coordinate with him. United StatesNothing to do with the lodge itself but night on the lake can get quite cold (we visited late september). The host provides very thick blankets, hot water bottles, and gas heater but bring warm clothes.
We were very touched by the host Joel who went out of the way to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. You will be provided with everything you would need - boat transfer, tea bags and coca tea leaves, hot water, as well as dinner meals, local tour of Uros island oxygen tank upon request for a reasonable additional charge. The host also helped arrange transfer from Juliaca airport and to Punu station for an early morning train. I was concerned about having to figure out some of these myself but the host took care of everything for us through prompt communication before and during our stay. The room is very tastefully furnished with local ethnic accents and is spacious for a whole family. You will get big, comfortable beds, clean bathrooms, USB charging and floor-to-ceiling glass walls for an unobstructed view of the surrounding lake. Views from the lodge were otherworldly and you get to experience the lake's beauty that changes with time of the day as a privilege of staying on the floating lodge as opposed to taking a day trip.

SpainIt is very cold so take warm clothes, and as expected you are in a floating island so the toilet facilities are basic but very clean (dry toilet and hot water for your shower but very little pressure) but totally worth the experience!!
I highly recommend this beautiful stay in such a special spot, it is not everyday that you wake up on a floating island surrounded by a beautiful lake. Joel & his wife Luz were extremely helpful & welcoming from day 1. I arrived on Sunday evening from Cuzco (Peru Rail) and Joel arranged a taxi to pick me up from the station to the small port (15soles) where he picked me up on his boat. The room is massive and beautifully decorated with glass windows. They prepared a nice dinner and gave me a hot water bottle as it’s very chilly at night although you have plenty of duvets and blankets and a heater to keep you warm. The next morning I woke up to a beautiful scenery and Joel and Luz lent me the traditional custom and took me around the totora boat to show me some of the other islands, the local school and they medical center (the doctors come only twice a week so for emergencies they have to head to Puno). We also stopped to collect some fish from his fishing net which was their lunch that day. I was initially planning on staying one night only however as Joel explained to me the story of the islanders, how they live and the very welcoming expedience I extended my trip by an extra night. If you want to experience the real Uros lifestyle, with a very welcoming family this is the one for you!

He went out of his way to make sure we were picked up safely from Puno when we arrived late at night and gave us thick blankets on the boat to the island as it was a chilly night. He personally took us around the islands the next day so that we could experience the culture and traditions and even showed us fishing! Would recommend to anyone interested in learning about the Uros traditions and also want to experience tranquillity and amazing sunsets. The accommodation was spacious and bedding comfortable.
