In the evening and night it can be very cold in the room. Location close to the bus station and port, but the street itself seems a little bit unsafe.

Room was super clean and at all time hot water. The staff were extremely friendly. I arrived at 04:30am and they let me into the room.

Entrance doors are locked at all times so it is not easy to get in and out, one must always search for someone. I was not informed in advance that I could only pay in cash.

The room, bed, and shower were very comfy for the price. Hot shower and cleanliness. Walkable distance to the bus station.

No hot water in the shower, some owners were super super loud downstairs but this eventually quietened down. Bed was very mediocre but comfy enough.

Had hoped to be able to use the microwave but it was broken. Would have been an added bonus as traveling with someone with food allergies.

Easy 10 min walk from bus station, to port and town centre so well located. Clean rooms and helpful staff. Access to rooms pre normal check in time was very useful.

There was no soap provided, the hostel is very clean but not cosy at all. We agreed that I can take breakfast at 6.00 am because of an early bus, but at 6.00 am the breakfast was not prepared instead the guy made the check in of 3 arrivals. Plan 15 min. Extra if you travel to Bolivia for the online registration at the bus terminal for international travellers. Terminal tax is 1.80 Soles.

Such a massive and comfy bed! Was exactly what we needed after an 8 hour drive to Puno. Would definitely recommend for comfort, however, it was situated on a busy road/market (however that didn’t bother us at all).

I did not like that I could not pay with the credit card but only in cash. Towels were not changed during room cleaning; I would have liked to find clean towels once back to the facility.

It’s a bit far from centre. Wifi wasn’t fast nor stable but should be ok if you stay for one night.

The room is spacious room and clean. Bed is comfortable. It’s close to the port too. Some of the staffs are very nice and friendly. I was sick and they ran out to get me a taxi to the hospital. They make me an egg each morning and helped me with my suitcase.

If you’re at the front on the hotel you overlook the alleyway with lots of lights so definitely need a market Not sure how safe the area was for a solo female traveller but I just got there late and left early so not a problem

There is no heating as stated at Booking. Eventually it was not needed, but if you plan on visiting on a colder month it would be a problem. Pillows need to be changed, they are not comfortable anymore.

Maya Inn may not be a fancy facility but its wonderfull staff and its price - quality ratio make it really work! They allowed us to check in early and rest a bit, before our Titicaca tour. Breakfast was nice and tasty. Location is really close to the Port and 15 minutes walking distance from the central square. For a one-two day stay, it is a great choice.

The staff doesnt know English, I think this is needed. I bought a heater, but why do I pay for this? Its already a very cold room. They should keep the rooms hot and make the price more.

Have you ever been inside one of these giant freezers where they have the coldest beers for a warm day at the beach? Well, imagine that you spend the night inside one of those, but with a comfortable bed. Yes, they provided me with big blankets, but whenever I went to the toilet, I came back to a frozen bed again, and it took time to reheat it with my body warmth. It could be great if they could provide the guests with heaters, which probably they had, but if they already know that the night in Puno is gonna be -4ºC, probably it would make sense to just leave a heater there. The location is good, but the street is a bit dirty.

The location is very convenient, between the port and the city centre. The staff was very helpful and kind. The room was big, clean, and the facilities overall were in great condition. Breakfast was also great!

Don't know if this was a temporary problem or long term, but there was no hot water on the day I stayed there. Had it not been for this, the property would get a 9.

It was quiet (also the neighborhood), clean comfortable. The kindest lady at the reception. Room size and quality was a true steal for the price.

Some hairs in the bed, seems like that always the case in Peru lol. Breakfast ist just bread+marmelade, juice and pretty bad coffee.

the room is big and the bed comfortable. Employees are extremely helpful and nice. I booked a tour with the hotel. Receptionist organized a shared airport transport for me, which was way cheaper than a taxi for myself, but we went around Puno for an hour to pick up more people.

The biggest no-go for me was that I was waken up at 7.20 for the breakfast by a knock on the door even though I told them in the evening that I wanted breakfast at 8 am. I was really tired because I couldn't get much sleep the nights before and would have preferred to sleep longer. The breakfast was so poor that I should have skipped it anyway. The woman who was in charge in the morning was also unfriendly. Such a shame because otherwise I would have given it a 10.

The woman who welcomed me in the evening was really lovely and helpful. The room was great and not cold thanks to some extra blankets I got. Good ensuite bathroom. Great wifi.

- You need the receptionist to open/close the front window every time you leave/come back from the hostel. If they are not at the desk, you just have to wait - It was a bit cold at night, though, I guess, it is kind of normal this time of year

- Very friendly host - The location is not in the centre, though it's quite close to the embankment, which I needed - the breakfast is simple, though it's fair for this price - they offered tours for reasonable price and even let me keep my luggage for the night I was on a tour
