How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

No lift but it wasn't a problem as the staff helped with my suitcase. Location is out of town but only £1 with tuktuk and nice to be away from the busy town.
Stayed here twice once before going to the rainforest.and once afterwards. Lovely spacious hotel which is very clean. Nice new bar area. Breakfast on the top floor and there's fresh juice tea or coffee lovely soft rolls with jam and eggs. Staff were very helpful getting taxis and helping me with my trips. Hot water when you come out of the rainforest was much appreciated.

Pool not open and location was further out of centre than I expected, but Tuk Tuk easy

the location is very random, nothing to do around, we had to take a taxi everywhere. the room could be bigger too
Sergio from the front desk went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our stay. I wish all hotels had staff like him. selection of cold beers and soft drinks available to buy from the reception

I did not get entry to the gym, as the hotel staff does not have the keys to it ?! The only reason I had booked this pricey hotel. Furthermore I was forgotten for the breakfast, which js included in the price. Instead of apologizing and coming up with a solution, they just blamed each other. The night shift apparently forgot to put me on the list (why is that needed, if breakfast is included for everyone?) and therefore the staff did not buy enough ingredients for me? After a lot of discussion and expressing my frustration, i suddenly got a light breakfast. Very poor experience despite the premium price.

A/C didn’t work. Had to switch rooms multiple times Water (Forget about Hot) barely came out of the shower head. Neighborhood was sketchy. Rooms smell like raw sewage.

Very noisy at night from 8pm until 5 am ! Booming music in and around establishment. Loud televisions in neighboring rooms. Doors slammed etc. Seems to be a hotel set up for nightlife amusement. Breakfast consists of 2 bread rolls, scrambled egg , one small glass of juice and one cheap coffee. Swimming pool cloudy.
Beds very comfortable and clean. Staff friendly.

The Condition air is kinda noisy. there is a type of water filter built in it inside the room and from time to time it starts to make noise in the middle of the night.

WiFi didn’t work well. advertised as having hot water but didn’t work for me - was warm for maybe 20 seconds then turned to cold (would get some more warm water if you turned off and on again).

Terrace or balcony would be nice to have. No elevator. Surrounding is not so glamorous, unpaved street. For some reason tuk-tuk drivers didn't know where the hotel is located.
We liked this hotel a lot: welcoming stuff, good breakfast was good, hot water and conditioner worked very well. It was very quiet at night. We later stayed in other place and regret. Highly recommend!

The property itself is great, but it isn’t in a great area. I was robbed on the way to a restaurant. However, Sergio from the hotel was an absolute star and really looked after us. He stayed with us when we went to the police station and made sure we were ok. Best thing about our stay was Sergio, the staff are amazing.

The location of this hotel is on the way to the airport, not in the town centre. Soundproof wasn’t the best as we could hear lots of construction noises, but never at night time or early morning.
Everything looked sparking clean and the hotel manager Sergio was so nice and helpful. And did I mention they’ve got HOT water? Most places in Puerto Maldonado have only cold water. I missed hot water so much after a few days in the jungle.

Construction during my stay
Front desk gentleman was extremely helpful. The room was great and it had AC, which was a plus for me coming back to Puerto after 2 weeks in the jungle.
