How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Of course it is rather simple, but for the money this is to be expected so nothing to complain!
Nice hostel, very good value for money: Double room was simple but clean with everything you need, including hot shower. Location really good, nearby main plaza but still quiet as inside a courtyard. Good breakfast outside on the veranda with fresh eggs. Oskar was also very helpful with tours, speaking good english.

It was all good.
Only 2 mins from the plaza de arms and around many good eating places. This hostel is clean, offers good healthy breakfast, Oscar and the team are friendly, helpful and i met some good people here. Although i was traveling by myself i felt completely safe here and in Arequipa ingeneral. Was debating between selina and misti but I am glad I stayed in this hostel. Booked for 1 night but I ended up staying nearly a month. It is that good :) wifi is strong also. Highly recommended

The location is perfect, the people working here are very friendly and helpful! Beds are comfortable. The breakfast is basic, but you don't pay a lot of money so for this money it's good. :)

Beautiful place! 😍 The location is perfect (2 min walk from Plaza de Armas), the breakfast is delicious, the rooms are clean and spacious. There is very hot water and the views are stunning! Very big plus for the hosts for are really kind, helpful and flexible. They let me Check-in at 7am and took a shower the night after my check-out, before a long journey with the bus. I felt like home with them and their little puppy 🥰

It was great. Only comment is that the rooms back onto the main road and so can be noisy, bring your earplugs.
Oscar was an absolutely wonderful host. He gave us rooms which were adjacent to one another. He was very attentive and helped us when I lost my wallet. As well as recommended a fantastic tour of the Colca Canyon. Fantastic service. The rooms were spacious and there was a TV in them as well as a shower and toilet. Complimentary towels and soap were provided. They were clean and well maintained.

Everything was perfect
Very simple but really good breakfast. Staff is always helpful if you need information about the town or tours or get a taxi.

Señor Oscar and his wife were extraordinary host, being so helpful with informations and commodity. Room is located few blocks away from the main plaza. Warm water with high pressure and comfortable bed, good wi-fi, simply, great place to stay in while in Arequipa.

I recommend it to everyone! Very nice and helpful staff. Delicious breakfast. No need to go elsewhere for good travel deals, you can get it here. There is hot water for showers.

We didn't always have hot water - it was quite sporadic. Sometimes we did, but sometimes it was quite cold.
This is an absolutely fantastic B&B right in the centre of Arequipa one block from Plaza de Armas. Breakfast was a great start to each day, served on the terrace outside the room. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, always asking if everything was OK or seeing if we needed anything. We would totally recommend staying here: it was a very comfortable, spacious room.

It could have used a little more lighting. Sometimes it took a long time to get hot water or no hot water at all.
Breakfast (eggs, fresh bread & juice) were excellent. Location was excellent, just 2 blocks from the Plaza de Armas. Room size and accommodations were excellent for the price. The staff was friending and very helpful.
