Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):

GermanyThey don't react to the door bell. When we arrived we waited around 15 minutes till someone opened the door. Only after calling them by phone they reacted. That happened a second time, we were waiting 30 minutes in front of the door, ringing the bell, calling a few times. There was obviously someone at home but they were just not opening the door.

PeruI had a wonderful experience at the accommodation. From the moment we arrived, both Walter and his mother provided exceptional hospitality. They made us feel at home right from the start. The breakfast they served was delicious, and we truly appreciated that personalized attention. The amenities at the accommodation were outstanding, and every detail was carefully thought out for our comfort. Additionally, the proximity to various points of interest was very convenient and allowed us to explore the area easily. One of the aspects that captivated me the most was the beauty of the plants that adorned the place. They created a charming and relaxing atmosphere that added a special touch to our stay. In summary, my experience at this accommodation exceeded my expectations. The warm and friendly hospitality from Walter and his mother, the delicious breakfast, the amenities, and the beauty of the plants made my stay truly memorable. The place is a little bit outside the historical centre, but still reachable by foot. The communication with the owner is great in Whatsapp as long as you have a local sim card and data plan. If not, it could be a problem. The bed was great, a bathroom with a hot water. All you need for a short stay in Cusco. Breakfast were provided and coca tea available in the kitchen all the time.

Hour host, Walter was extremly helpful and kind. Very thoughtful and granted EVERY SINGLE request from us! We are very thankful. the room was VERY cozy and felt pretty clean too. Very safe place! Only 10-15 minutes walking from Plaza de Armas. (Best place and heart of Cusco)

ChinaWhen checking in, I got really disappointed. The host old lady helped me checked in. But when she knew that I booked two nights only for $19.2, she got very unhappy, and made phone call to her son many times complaining about the price was too low and impossible. I'm Genuis Level 3 in booking.com and frequent traveler around the world. I may got the additional discount when booking or because of last minute booking. But the price is just through booking.com, we should stick to what it is. If the host thought the price was too low and they didn't make profit, please increase the original price for your house instead of complaining and bringing these unpleasant experience to your guests. The checkin almost takes 30 minutes to complete. Finally I paid $20 by cash. Another day for breakfast, when I asked if I could have a little bit milk for my coffee, the old lady said no, there is no milk available. But actually later I saw the large bottle of milk from the refrigerator in the kitchen. I really don't like someone being dishonest. You could tell me that milk is not included in the breakfast and I could understand, but dishonest is not cool at all. Finally, room at night is extremely cold, I had a running nose and sneeze. The shower water is not very hot either. Wifi connection is poor in my room, due to far away from the router. Overall I didn't really enjoy the stay.
The location is good, very close to city center. The price is good, I booked two nights for $19.2 US dollars because of last minutes booking and Genius Level 3 discount, and overall lower price expense in Cusco, Peru.

United KingdomThere are a couple of things that need to be changed. A lock on the bathroom door is required and the temperature of the shower needs to be set higher as it is set at the boiler and is not hot enough for a comfortable shower. Also I didn't like my door being knocked on some days to tell me my breakfast was ready. Now about the noise. It seems they may have a problem here as I stayed the same weekend as another reviewer but I was told there was a wedding (not a birthday) and that it was tradition in Cusco to celebrate weddings two nights in a row. On the Friday night loud music started at about 7pm and continued until 4am. The whole room was vibrating. On the Saturday I was offered a room away from the noise which was fine but it would appear that the other reviewer had my previous room and had to endure the loud music. I hope that they are able to fix the music issues but seems it might be a regular thing.
I was made to feel welcome and the bed was comfortable. Walter and his mum seem really nice people.
