How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The pool and the garden are really nice. (Really enjoyable after walking) The hosts are really nice and helpful. The beds were confortable.

The welcoming of the staff was pretty cold and impersonal. The prices: Almost 4€ for a 2L bottle of water. The breakfast was 2 pancakes with marmelade and a tea (or coffee). No more. You have to know that's a touristic place.
The view, the cabaña, the fresh swimming pool.

The bed was hard. The shower was not very warm and in the morning cold. The bathroom smelled and was dank.
There was a nice vibe at the place. It has a pool. The meals were reasonably good,

Pool is not super clean
Don’t expect luxury but it’s a great place to stay. We enjoyed the outdoor area with the swimming pool and had a nice, basic hut with a comfortable bed.

The food was pretty bad, especially for Peru, both dinner and breakfast were bland and non-nutritious (take snacks). There's no soap or toilet paper in common (shared) bathroom and also there are bed bugs in room 102. I got over 30 bites overnight and my partner got bitten as well.
Could be just a nice guest house with pool to cool down after the hike

When you arrive after a nice hiking day in the canyon Paraiso Lodge is a very good option 😊 you’ll have a pool nice drinks and tasty dinner in the evening (price is ok, but not really cheap). Since you don’t have many options, it’s fine

One of the resorts in the oasis at the bottom of the canyon. Bit tricky to find reception but Google Maps marker accurate. Very casual, friendly owner. The pool, cold beers and large fried chicken dinner were great. Extra star for the 5am breakfast so hikers can set out before sunrise. 👍

Great hostel with pool in the Sangalle Oasis. Perfect for an overnight stay when hiking in the Colca Canyon.

We got there early, so the only room ready has some issues. They were really good about getting another room ready and letting us move there, but only after pointing out the original issue in the room and asking to move. Overall, though, it was a good lodge in a unique place, so I would still recommend it
Pablo and Jenny were fantastic. The pool and grounds were nice. The food and overall value was good.

Although they are working on a new building on the premises, lodge was really nice! Good rooms and big swimming pool! The food was good and now for 20 soles! Not 30 anymore.

There was only one option for food.
Basic facilities but all you needed for a night. We was given a private bathroom after booking a shared bathroom which was a nice treat.

There was quite a strong smell coming from the bathroom in our room, dinner was okay but not really worth the money.
Comfortable bed, great grassed area around the pool and there were puppies, dogs and cats around the place :D

Even though it is an ecolodge, the rooms could have been cleaner. Rooms a bit run down but they are also building new ones it appears.
Jenny does a great job of taking care of guests. Good pool and dinner. Of course, location is right in the oasis. Electicity and lights in the room all the time. Has cold shower. The property went out of its way to deliver clothes we accidentally left behind to our Arequipa hotel - much appreciated!

Oasis Paraiso Ecolodge is very nice facillity situated close to the river on the bottom of the valley. You are accommodated in the simply wooden huts, but there is really warm, no need to have a sleeping bag. We were suprised we were given to the breakfast at 5 a.m., so you have plenty of time to ascent back to Cabanaconde (3 hours) to catch the bus at 9:30 back to Arequipa. There is also one pool with thermal water (ca 22C) to refresh.
